Take It Personal - Kool G. Rap - Take It Personal (Interview)
When you hear the term "your rappers favorite rapper", they're are talking about Kool G. Rap. Whether you consider him the G.O.A.T. or somewhere in your Top 5, there is no denying that Kool G. Rap is one most influential rappers of all-time.
Whether you like Nas, Jay, Big, Pun, Em, Black Thought or any other great lyricist, just know they're great because of Kool G. Rap. The multis, the wordplay, the humor, the violence, the voice and god-like ability to tell a story, there' is NOBODY quite like him.
The man of the hour sat down with us to discuss his illustrious career. We talk Marley Marl, Eric B., Kane and the whole Juice Crew. We get into his favorite mobster movies, favorite verse of all-time and we even make him pick his own top 5. We discuss Nas, Black Thought, Masta Ace, Pun and Necro. We even cover the Rawkus debacle and much more.

As a lyricist G rap has surpassed Rakim, Rick and Kane because he's the only 80's lyricist who is still consistant dropping albums here and there. Doing collabos with Griselda before the current wave. He out rapped the next generation when he was on tracks with Em, Canibus and Saigon. And the one thing no one ever brings up is that G Rap never sold out and paid for not selling out by not being popular in mainstream. But real hip hop heads will always acknowledge G Rap. Interviewers did justice by acknowledging G Raps highlight songs. I was waiting for them to bring up CB4 and Erase Racism and they did. Props

As a now older man in my late 40s somehow I still find myself extremely fascinated with the legacy of Hip Hop music specifically 84 through 2010 . I recall my female older cousin introducing me to it I remember her sitting by the boom box smoking a joint bopping her head to its a Demo playing it over and over and she was so amazed . And now to see that G rap is still rapping and still sounds fly and I see his interviews and I see him an adult probably in his mid to late 50 and with Grey hair and still has that swagger and I can tell it authentic and it still fits him and he still has the laid back but super hard character . Like I can't believe it that hip hop made it this far its so beautiful and it's made so Many black Americans men and women rich wealthy its amazing ! It brings so many memories smells sounds and feelings. I salute you Kool G Rap .
