A few years ago, I filmed the series "Movie Mansions" for Breakfast TV in the UK. We took viewers on a tour of famous estates featured in movies and television, steeped in Hollywood history. Travel back with me now to Hearst Castle.

A dear friend of mine, John Considine, Jr., the actor, grew up as Hollywood royalty. His father, John Considine, Sr., was one of the most-famous MGM producers, "Young Tom Edison", "Boys' Town", etc. The family knew Hearst very well. Marion Davies was his parents' maid of honor at their wedding. The Considines had their own beach house down Pacific Coast Highway from Marion Davies' "bungalow". John once remarked that he "had learned to swim in the big outdoor pool at the Hearst ranch."
There were zebras there when I went it was beautiful!

You can live there if you got like maybe 250 billion bucks and buy it outright from CA National Parks. They'd probably deny your offer cause that's a cash cow for them.
