I thought Arden Station was being renamed North Melbourne, and the current North Melbourne to West Melbourne.

Too confusing so they didn't do it.

@@DaleDix That’s a shame. I don’t think it would have been too confusing. People would have gotten used to the change in time. Geographically the change would make complete sense. I still think they will eventually make the change. Mark my words.

@@DaleDix Has that been confirmed anywhere? My assumption was that they were going to call it Arden until the current North Melbourne is renamed - to avoid any confusion.

They ended up not going ahead with the name change because it was going to cause confusion for emergency services

Glad to see action after years of feasibility studies and environmental reports. Now it's too big for the Libs to cancel it. I hope some progress will be made with the Cheltenham link before the Libs cancel it in 2026.

"Now it's too big for the Libs to cancel it." Like Chairman Dan did with the East West Link freeway? Coalition governments aren't scared of building roads or railways. A Coalition government is building Australia's largest new rail project in Sydney, complete with driverless trains and several points of interconnect with the heavy rail system. A short line with five or six stations doesn't cut it up here.

I wonder what will come first, the whole works finished and passengers using the tunnel or Australia opening up to foreign tourists?

Ironically, we're not allowed to use them in the way were designed. For the most part they were built whilst people were locked up inside.
