Behind the scenes with Takashi Murakami as he and his Kaikai Kiki team prepare to launch Ego The exhibition opened at QM Gallery, Al Riwaq on February 9, 2012. In an exhibition space spanning almost 2,300 square-metres, over sixty works were showcased. These included sculptures, paintings, animations and a giant circus tent.
Through bursts of colour and a myriad of characters, the work touched on a range of themes. It often channeled the ecstasy and anxiety of consumerism - a topic that resonates with a broad audience in Doha.
Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) is proud to announce a new major exhibition by Takashi Murakami, the artist's first solo exhibition in the Middle East. Murakami's Ego will be on view from February 9 to June 24, 2012 in the Al-Riwaq exhibition hall, located on the grounds of the Museum of Islamic Art on Doha's Corniche. The exhibition will immerse visitors in a fantasy world conceived by the renowned Japanese artist, capturing the way Murakami channels the ecstasy and anxiety of contemporary culture.

تم إفتتاح معرض الذات في جاليري متاحف قطر، الرواق، في 9 فبراير 2012. وقد ضمّ المعرض أكثر من 60 من 60 عمل فني توزعوا على مساحة تقدر ﺒ2300 متر مربع. وشملت هذه الأعمال منحوتات ولوحات ورسوم متحركة وخيمة سيرك عملاقة.
ومن خلال ألوانه البارزة وعدد شخصياته الذي لا يحصى، تناول المعرض مجموعة من المواضيع ساهمت في توجيه النشوة والقلق من النزعة الإستهلاكيّة وهو موضوع يهم شريحة واسعة من الجمهور في قطر.
تفخر هيئة متاحف قطر بالإعلان عن معرض كبير جديد للفنان تاكاشي موراكامي ، وهو أول معرض فردي للفنان في الشرق الأوسط. سيتم عرض "الأنا موراكامي" في الفترة من 9 إلى 24 يونيو 2012 في قاعة الرواق ، الواقعة على أرض متحف الفن الإسلامي على كورنيش الدوحة. سيغمر المعرض الزوار في عالم خيالي تصورته الفنانة اليابانية الشهيرة ، حيث يلتقط الطريقة التي ينقل بها موراكامي النشوة والقلق للثقافة المعاصرة.
