Just received mine after watching this review. Cant believe how much better it looks in person, even though it looks amazing on camera. What a figure, although you missed a couple of transformation steps 😉

Megatron looked REALLY happy to see Sunstreaker ;-)

I had the same gap problem is car mode you did. I somehow had the hip joints backwards. I flipped them around to the small side of the pin is facing front. It lines up the hip skirt better and now my door line up perfectly. Great video! Helped me out with transformation a lot!

I know this is an old video but you actually missed a small step of the transformation - in robot mode under the chest piece there are two tabs on either side that secure the sides of the chest panel into place.

Literally the best Masterpiece I have. Articulation is flawless except for the the ass piece. It could have split up into two pieces to make the hip sides look lore pilled out.

My MP Sunstreaker had no problems in alt mode and is flush. As for negative pooints, you didn't mention the lack of toy/non-cartoon face and/or more metallic paint on said face and larger gun. Currently, they went with the same "long chin w/faux silver paint" look for them both, just like they did with MP Megatron. It wouldn't have been too much effort to include one "normal" looking face and gun, to be honest as not eveyone likes the new direction the MP line has taken.

Modern children indeed have no respect for class! Fine review as always from a great figure. I will be buying this. Takara deserves some support with all the competition nowadays. They are one of the masters of the MP line and need to continue releasing all the figures.

Some parts are that tight that i am afraid it will break off when moving them. In particular at 14:30

You must've gotten unlucky w/ QC in your MP-39's vehicle mode not being so flush because I've seen tons of reviews w/ better tolerances & more flush in their vehicle modes!!!

I just received mine and it has a couple major scratches on the chrome tail fins. QC issues for Takara Tfs are common. Many of these reviewers get special review items that have been selected for quality for marketing purposes - these are in particular the reviews that come out before anyone else actually has the item.

What happened to Megatron at the end there? It looks suggestive...

The window panels on his legs are meant to push in flush and fully close the gap in his legs. Give it a try.

Takara QC issues? What a surprise (sarcasm). Also, my chrome tail fins have a couple very noticeable/large scratches. That was something that Badcube managed to avoid, no scratches of any kind. Takara just doesn't seem to care about this kind of thing.

Speaking of Chip, I think less of him and more of Professor X since you're on a wheelchair. Also, I like how this figure didn't come with the prototype gray pieces that Inferno had (even Sun Surge's were better with the non chromed silver).

The back / side of the legs can also compress in a bit more to fill in the gap.

sunstreaker was always the flashy type in my opinion

I did not sell my Sunsurge. While this is nice, there are a few things about Sunsurge I like better. Also, this version cannot do the hand missile thing...

Wow. It sucks that you got burned on the QC with Sunstreaker...you would think that they'd make sure that's on point, especially considering that the lil' McBastard costs MORE than every MP carbot that came before him (as well as more than Ironhide & Ratchet)!! I don't see what makes him worth as much as Optimus Primal...hopefully they don't try to repeat such a stunt when MP40 (Targetmaster Hot Rod) comes out...

There have been major QC issues with several Takara MP releases, so at this point you shouldn't be surprised when it happens.

Why is Sunstreaker featuring a *different* sculpt in alt mode? He's actually smaller than Sideswipe!

Because he is suppose to be a different sculpt. They never looked alike. Sunstreaker is taller than Sideswipe looking at mine side by side

Definitely looks a bit narrower on the nose of the car, almost too round to be that classic 80's ski slope nose. I wonder if they did it to make the feet look a bit smaller in bot mode? Lengthwise I believe he is exactly the same as Sideswipe.

He is not smaller than Sideswipe. His windscreen is slightly smaller and the front of the car is 1/16" narrower, than sideswipe.... that being said, the proportions on Sunstreaker are actually more accurate to the LP500 S than Sideswipe's.... Sideswipe's front is actually alitle to wide, the front wheels are set abit too far in and his windscreen is abit too big compared to the LP500S.... they are both close, but Sunstreaker is closer.

Ummm...Gigapower (Not) Sluge? Tell me you're doing him next. Please...

You say that modern children have no respect for class for not liking the old Countach model, but I bet you'd probably say the same about the Model T if you was a wee lil lad lolol. Still nice review, but I feel new MPs look more flat and naked than the older ones. I bet they'll have a new Grimlock use solid yellow pieces instead of clear ones, a Skids that looks like an upscaled Action Master, or a Starscream prone to yellowing severely.
