This method seems to have the best stability from what I used before. Thanks!

Well explained! I like the cutout showing how the ball on the end of the string seats against the bridge plate. I also like using the different method for the B & e strings.

Great demo Tom! In 55 years of playing, I had never learned to cut the wound strings to length first, so always unwieldy… too many wraps / not enough wraps around the pegs, etc. THNX! Time to restring, so will try this tonight on my CP4-DC-OV.

Wow, love the cutaway demonstration showing the ball end and pin placement inside the guitar. Thanks for an excellent job of explaining and showing how to replace strings. If you read this I and others would appreciate knowing which strings and gauge you used here. Thank you!

All Takamine six-string guitars with steel strings come with D’Addario EXP16 light-gauge strings. Gauges are 12-16-24-32-42-53. That being said, your Takamine guitar can handle a range of acoustic string gauges that you may select depending on your playing style.

@@TakamineGuitarsUSA Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly. I just got an EG530SC today that needs new strings. Do you think the D’Addario EJ16’s would also be ok? Thanks

Hi I am working on an FP 592 ME series Tak that I received with the endpin removed. I wired up the endpin properly to the best of my knowledge. When I tested a signal from my ipad jack through the endpin circuit and out to an amp, it played very clearly. When I hooked it up to the old pre amp it gave no signal to the amp. I purchased another pre amp, a CT4-BII , supposedly compatible with the guitar pickup system and found when I hooked up the output jack, the tuner worked on a strung guitar but no sound came out of my acoustic amp. I disengaged the muting function of the tuner and still no sound. I took out the palathetic pickup and removed any tarnish that I saw on all applicable parts. I am not sure what to try next. Replace the piezo cylinders? Rewire the pickup? The wiring looks solid. There is no grounding hum. A small clunk noise when I slide the volume slider but nothing else. Hope someone can help.

If I put rosewood pins in my takamine would it make it a bit warmer thanks Colin

Colin, the material of the bridge pins is likely to have only a minor effect on tone. More importantly, wood bridge pins can swell in higher humidity zones, potentially causing problems with the bridge.

I try not to let it grind through the nut slot as the string will grind away the slot and over time cause the slot to lower thus causing buzzing…especially if you are a gigging musician and change strings daily.

Hi Tom ex electrician here, the first tool was not a side cutter, they were 'dikes'' Side cutters are used to twist and splice wires together and the first tool will not do that thanks
