Taiwanese Trawlers | Live The Caribbean Dream
Here's a walkthrough of an older 38 Marine Trader that has a lot of water left to run under her hull. Powered by a Ford Diesel. For sale in Southwest Florida let me know if you're interested and I will pass the owners information on to you.
** This video is intended for entertainment purposes only. I am not an expert Nor yacht broker and I am not being paid from the owner any commissions.

l am a Ocean going Captain i think this Boat worth $25k USDollar. Not a penny more.
Priced way high for what it is.
I bought our 1976 Marine Trader 40’ aft cabin back in July. For $8,000. The 120 Leman runs great looks great. In fact, paid for the boat, started it up and drove twelve miles home. No problem. Here in Florida slip rents and insurance rates and yard fees are so high people are dumping these old trawlers.

@@CharlotteHarborFisherman Not now days. There are three trawlers all 34’ between 10k and 2k right now. Rents can be more than the value of the boat. Plus, offer cash today. Force them to make up their mind.

Ship them to Barbados, auction 2 and see the profit.
Def a liveaboard. She needs some "LOVE" but the repairs done makes it interesting. Perfect bachelor pad material.
That old Ford will run forever

I like the Sea Alice, can you get información
If I was quoted $15K for Bimini and other covers , I reckon I'd be heading to you tube to learn how to do it myself!!!!! Even if you fork out a grand for equipment you'd still be way ahead......and you may have even started a new business!!!!!!!!!

I thought the same thing and tried to get into the bussiness but it's not easy. I would just hook up a sun shade and call it a day.

He ment $1,500. Nobody would pay $15,000. for 12' of canvas. 😂
You said no water intrusion but I noticed definite leakage around both port lights in the master. Today the boat isn't worth the asking price, but still seems a good value at about 30 K.

You don't have to look hard to find leaking windows in an old trawler 👍
Cool boat, buy a great home for 50,000 and you can move, if you don’t like your neighbors lol

Be very very careful with these Taiwanese vessels. They used a lot of hardwood which does not age well in heat and high humidity. Before you invest a dime check the humidity of all the wood in between the fiberglass. If I lived in the Great Lakes I would definitely consider one of these. In the south absolutely no. Your boat will rot out from under you.

Is Balsa wood a hard wood? Thought that was what they used I heard it was like cork and prone to do just what you described.

I think I answered this already. But in case... Yes Balsa is a very light clear wood and was used by most high end builders as fiberglass adheres to it well. However, today, foam is much better, as it is stronger, more flexible, and bonds to fiberglass as good or better than balsa. Hard woods for the framing, such as oak, teak, and mahogany, tend to hold moisture and have too much oil to adhere to fiberglass over time and heat. They will rot if left in heat and high humidity. The rotting is the old boat smell you often encounter in vessels. For the right price, I'd buy one of the vessels if I lived on the Great Lakes, but not for the deep south.@@CharlotteHarborFisherman

Their problems are very well known. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one, just make sure you do your homework and know what you're getting.
