Taiwan's Cupid-like Deity Makes Over 6000 Matches a Year | Oh My God: Xia-Hai City God Temple

#YueLao #ChineseCupid #GodofMarriage
Starting at Dadaocheng Wharf, agent NIO sought out the world-renowned God of Marriage. Following clues, NIO explored Dihua Street and stumbled upon Yongle Fabric Market, a building filled with tailor shops and fabric stores.
After leaving the market, NIO arrived at his destination: Taipei Xia-Hai City God Temple. In order to receive the red thread and lead coin, he had to ask for the God of Marriage’s blessing. So, NIO purchased offerings to worship the God of Marriage, expressing his devout respect. After completing his mission, NIO exclaimed: Xia-Hai City God Temple is the go-to place to be replenished and receive positive energy!

In Taiwan, most people say “Lunar New Year” instead of “Chinese New Year”.

Hi I was in Taiwan and visited this temple. They gave me the ribbon in a pouch so I was wondering if I keep it in there or do I wear the red ribbon around my wrist?

Traditionally, you wear it around the wrist. Nowadays, it's more practical that you put it in the purse or wallet.

@Mary Kivarkis Did you mean you want to get the red string on behalf of someone else? Yes, as long as you have his/her information. If you meant that you've had ur heart set for sb, it's okay too but then don't get the red string, just ask the matchmaking God for his blessing. (because in his book of destined marriage, that might not be the one for you, so a red string wouldn't help in this case)

@@jazutube Not on behalf of someone else, but meaning to pray to be with a specific person. I already asked Yue Lao while in a Taiwan and I’m currently wearing the red string and have been since I came back about a month and 1/2 ago. Do you recommend I take it off now?

Also wondering because you said in his book of destined marriages, if his book has destined people for one another, then wouldn’t wearing the red string being me to him.. whether it’s this person or not?!

Not only Chinese celebrate the festival, Taiwanese, Korean and Vietnamese celebrate it too. It's better to call it Lunar New Year.

The celebrations on Taiwan are based on Chinese customs. 98% of people on Taiwan are of ethnic Chinese descent. Therefore, it would be correct to call it Chinese New Year. Vietnamese and Koreans have their own set of traditions that they follow.
