She may, but it's probably not that much of an issue! :) I get that it's nice to have the option but I'm not sure that the lack of it is really a 'problem'. I'm not rushing to fit the module in my car@@djshortefromphilly

Installed mine today and it works perfect.Took 45 min. to install (couldnt see the small numbers). Delivery time was 7 weekend to Denmark. Looking forward to a module that make it possible to open the tailgate by swiping my foot ;o)

I found an easier solution to get the tailgate to close with the remote. It's a Volvo CFE (Can Function Extender). You simply plug it in the OBD connector, there is no need to connect anything else. There are a lot of other features, but one is the ability to close the tailgate with the remote. Works like a charm!

Ik bought it at VolvoTech, but after their founder sadly died the company's products were taken over by Swedesolutions.com. Look for the CFE Plus (with or without WiFi). It does much, much more besides closing the tailgate with the remote. I bought it in a bundle with a Bluetooth module, which enables playing audio from your phone, and use the wheel controls to operate your phone (next and previous). There is a long list of features on the website.

I don't know why I love these cars I mean heck it's a station wagon but I just can't stop thinking about getting one I just think that they're the coolest car!

Mine are all intact. Never heard they break.

Not sure if the 3.0 is any better than the 2.3, but mine stopped working and melted after a few years. Upon inspection, most pins appear to be missing solder entirely (never soldered), and the soldering job in general was quite poor. Workmanship on mine was apprentice-level quality. Again, perhaps the newer versions have improved, but if you have any older ones, I'd definitely encourage you to take a closer look at them if you have any electronics knowledge.

I just connected the previous module like this one.

Be careful with tightening those tyraps! Double check the connection. A wire connection came loose

I literally had this exact problem about a year ago. The dealer fixed it under warranty but told me that they replaced the entire lift motor.

i have a question.. maybe you can find an a friend with a XC70 misusing this feature and perform an upgrade and a video of howto: my XC70 lacks power liftgate and i haven't had a single clear answer from anyone i asked on if its even possible to "retrofit" a power tailgate and how. volvo dealership up the road from me says it isn't possible but then again tell me that on everything that isnt factory fitted) however they will sell me the parts individually at an extreme cost which makes me think it is possible.. i was thinking of going to the junk yard in the future and pulling parts but i dont even know where to begin on the XC70 for parts and wiring. could you help with this?

You can purchase all the necessary blocks and wires, but there is one big problem. the VOLVO dealer will not install software for the operation of these blocks

Slightly off topic, I have a question. I have the lighting module on my v70. It works great and gives me the full running lights at the rear. But then I had a towball fitted and had to remove the module because it stopped the brake lights working on the trailer. Is there any way of upgrading the lights module to bypass this problem at all?

Just ordered the version 3 module while pulling the roof panel off broke a few clips . Do u know the part number for these clips? Could not find them on line I am in uk . Also i could not disconnect the grey one the 2 parts just stuck together . Definitely not as easy as your veido Best regards

Hey. My tail gate will not operate remotely. I can open and close by hand. Fuse if fine. I can't heat motor even trying to start. Do you know what could be or how to check it by vida? Thx

Unsee the warning tone is different on yours compared to your friends. Why is this I prefer yours as its not.so loud and higher in frequency sound. Also, does the warning sound happen if I press the tailgate button on the tailgate or the switch by steering wheel? Or does warning only sound when using the fob to close tailgate?

In my parents' 2014 V70 it's located under the boot floor on the right side to the rear of the wheelarch just behind the rail (mounted on the metal boot floor), hope that helps.

Can you adjust the height of the tailgate when it opens,as I saw the one on the right hitting the garage door slightly,so is there a way to save a new height?like pressing the tailgate button for a while?

Yes. Opening the tailgate, moving it to the position you would like it to stop at manually and pressing the close tailgate button for three seconds or more should do the trick.

Module works on cars with power tailgate. If your car dont have a power tailgate, module dont work on this car

Our 2012 XC70 won't close via the interior button, either. Will the 3.0 module cure that as well?

Can you help me? Ive got a problem. The light doesnt shine in the boot when I open the boot door. I have a new bulb, there is no mass, but when I get the mass the light shines all.the time even after turning off the car. V70 2010

mass is switched on by a microswitch in the trunk lock when the door is open. You have a faulty microswitch in the lock or a wire disconnected somewhere. You need to check the wiring. if the wiring is ok, then you need to change the lock

There is two variations for the power tailgate. Electric and hydraulic. The VIN will help determine the correct module to correctly operate on your Volvo.

the module beeps only when we close the tailgate from the remote control or buttons in the cabin. in other cases, the module is silent

S60 dont have a power tailgate. For S60 suitable module v4.1 Disable the Start/Stop function, if this feature is available on your car. Unlocking doors after stop engine.
