Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) Wang Shu Chin

Wang Shu-chin, who later took over the leadership of the Chung-nan lineage of bagua and hsing-i from Chang Chao-tung, had during his youth, been sent by Chang to represent him in a meeting to bring taiji (tai chi) 'back to the basics,' and to participate actively by injecting into it elements of both xingyi and bagua.

Grandmaster Shu-Jin Wang is an internal martial artist in Xingyi, Tai Chi and Baguazhang. In the 60s, at the invitation of Japan, he was sent by the Chinese MA Association in Taiwan, the Republic of China, to teach Kung Fu in Japan. Soon after his arrival, he received numerous challenges from Japanese MA experts in Karate, Judo, Akido and kickboxing who all looked down upon Chinese martial arts, but each of these challengers was defeated by Wang in a matter of just few seconds and couldn't get back on their feet. Wang is actually the father of Chinese internal martial arts in Japan.

@charlesstepp2083 These are well known facts and there are some photo's of others. but it went down a little differently, Wang thought he was going to Japan to teach Taoism, But Chen Pan Ling tricked him, knowing that he would not go to fight, when he landed many artists were there and coming to fight, Wang was most insulted, and subsequently destroyed his opponents. Chens sons laughed about this later once they were older, but it's also why they have far inferior skills than Wang had, Wang first love was the Tao, his second love was martial arts, Wang Fu Lai taught very differently, soft and gentle, non combative, as is his nature, but boating he truth and body skill and internal skill can still be found within if someone has the natural ability.

We would have guys pulling guard on the street if bjj was real. But seriously, it all depends on the situation, environment, rules, etc... Wang shu went to japan and fought challenges from judokas, karate fighters, and whatever style that challenged him. He beat them all. Why do you think he had thousands of students in his short time there. You saying their arts are not real? btw, ive trained bjj for 4 years so im not trolling it but using it as example since its such a big part of mma

My friend! when you incorporate joint locks and soft tissue strikes/gouges, mma would look just like kung fu. The karate used in MMA actually comes from kung fu. Tai chi is a pretty complete system. However, many in the martial arts community scoff at Brazilian jujitsu because they don't like the attitudes that they have encountered. I've found that chin na has many of the same features as most other wrestling styles. What makes tai chi such a beneficial martial art is the exercise involved

Actually no it wouldn't look just like Kung Fu Kung Fu fights and looks MUCH different than that modern fighting you usually see in mma. Mma is NOT the basis of all martial arts it's for sport competition. how they do their forms is how they fought if you can even see it. That "the only thing they have is different is there groin attacks and eye gouges" is a modern western way of seeing Kung fu. Let me tell you that they can hit harder faster with much more destructive force than they do in mma they can take more like a spear to the throat break thick pieces of wood on there body pieces metal on there head. There is sooooooooo much about Kung Fu that you don't know don't look on social media to see what Kung Fu is.

I teach Wu family taiji and can see the influences here. I teach my students applications from day one so they understand the movement, shape and intention. Of course I tell them it takes years of training for power, speed, stamina, pain control, etc., before they could use the moves naturally and with confidence. We generally don’t practice on that level because most of my students are older and it would not be their goal. But we do some beginner level drills for coordination and relaxation.

for one thing, this is not tai chi chuan but tai chi which means it is a fake derivative of the true style of tai chi chuan. here are two original styles of tai chi chuan. The first style is Kings style bc it was fashioned in the honor of the ones who invented it, and that is the southern china royal families that were exiled in Indonesia when gung-fu aka martial arts was banned from China. And Buddha who was not only the Prince of India but was the one that introduced the three texts that turned Shaolin Boxing into Chu'uan Fa (Ken Fat in Mandarin) Wu(martial) Shu(arts) that combined the 1st (northern China shaolin kung-fu) and the 2nd (southern China Shaolin gung-fu) schools. When it was banned in China (gung-fu) took on the title kuntao (kune=the hand and tao pronounced 'dou" meaning the way) Together they mean the way of the hand. But bc kings style generated chi to rapidly (which no other tai chi can do) it was revised to a secondary style of tai chi chuan, which btw is dedicated to the Master Abbott (Chu'uan) who fashioned it with the three texts. (the lotus sutra, I-Hsieng and I-Chieng) and called it Jung Style. It must have the three characteristics of tai chi chuan or it wol not build chi. This does not have it. It has imitations of it. It must ward off, push down, and rollback.

Yeah? No seriously that was a load of gibberish. There was no Taijiquan before Yang Luchan's style of boxing was compared to the concept of taiji by the scholar Ong Tong He and the name stuck, before that it was know as cotton fist or neutralizing fist. Luchan spent 18 years learning Chen Family boxing before founding his own style. The name taijiquan came to be applied to Chen, Yang then the styles established by latter students i.e Wu, Wu/Hao, Sun. There are also regional derivatives as well. There is no King style although Yang Luchan and his sons Yang Ban Hao and Yang Jian Hao taught the royal bodyguards of the Manchu court, Wu Quan Yu being a member of the Manchu Imperial Guards and student of the Yangs became the founder of Wu style taijiquan. There is no such thing as tai chi, that is just a bad western interpretation of the word taiji (Supreme ultimate) quan (fist) and has nothing to do with chi/qi. The Buddha was not king of India. He was born into a ruling family of the Sakya tribe in what is today Nepal. There was no India and Nepal then, at that time the region was made up of 13 kingdoms. Shaolin existed as a temple in China before any martial art was practiced in the temple. The main teaching at the temple was the lottus sutra until Bodhidharma arrived and changed it to the diamond suttra. Both of these sutras apeared between 500 and 1000 years after the historical buddha and although much of them is consistant with the Buddhas dhamma he did not write them, infact he wrote down nothing as it was an oral tradition for the first 300 years.Bodhidhama is credited with introducing exersizes and texts known as the bone and tendon strengthening texts although how much of this is true and how much myth perpetuated by the temple is up for debate. The Buddha taught only about suffering and the path of liberation from it, all his teachings related to that. The complete teachings of the historical buddha are contained in the tipitaka and nikayas. None of his teachings are martial texts and have nothing to do with taiji. The concept of taiji is a taoist concept but taijiquan is not historically taoist even though many like to atribute it to Zhang San Feng and Wudang this was just a story applied to give it some sort of ancient roots and does not stand up to serious historical examination. The only link between Buddha, Shaolin,Tao and taiji is the fact that Yang Luchan was an acomplished Chang Chuan/long fist boxer which was a style popular and taught at Shaolin at the time befor he went to learn Chen family boxing and his own cotton fist style became known as taijiquan because of its simlarities to the concept of taiji in Taoism. Nothing to do with chinese kings in indonesia lol.

This form was synthesised from a panel of Chinese masters, from the 5 major styles as a reconstruct of all of the tai chi forms, taking out what was not useful either martial wise or internally. Cen Pan Ling who created the original poem, that was modified by Wang Shu Jin was well known and connected to the chief historian for all of martial arts in China prior to the war when over 5 acres of manuscripts collected over the ages were lost. The style is real, the combat within the style, is much more savage then displayed here, this is like the finger paining or crayonversion of the arts applications. Not the big boy challenge match version LOL.. so yeah, I'd say you have no idea what your talking about, Chen pan ling, also studied with yang Lu chans 2 students and a man other from Wu styles creator.

Therefore certain movements were taken out of the original when excerpts (fragment) were shown to Northen Shaolin after Martial Arts was taken out to preserve the temple from further destruction.
