In 2021, TAG Heuer introduced a new Carrera "Three-Hands" collection of time-only watches based on the classic chronograph model. You might remember - it was also around the time TAG brought on Ryan Gosling as an ambassador. Sure, we think Gos looks pretty dapper in a 34mm vintage Rolex or Omega too, but he's also been making this very TAG Heuer Calibre 5 look pretty good on screen, wearing it while he starred in The Gray Man on Netflix.

I just bought a Carrara calibre 5 automatic which has half Arabic numerals , are they any good?but the date window is at quarter past
Looks great. Nice and simple design but still looks special. The TAG brand has value for most buyers who are not shopping on specs. Design, brand, and if you simply like it - $3 k is totally fair.

To be fair Tags are well made but very over priced - you get a lot more with an Oris or a Longines - buy a Tag pre owned like I did and save at least 50%

But you don't. You really don't get more. Tag Heuer casing, bracelet, movements (save for a plastic movement holder) are cut above Oris and Longines. Designs are better and their tolerances are tighter.

@@StephenTomko Compared with my Aquaracer my Oris Big Crown Pro Pilot is far better engineered including the bracelet - fit and finish on a much higher level

@@thenotanclan I'll have to disagree. They're about on the same level having handled both and I prefer the Tag design. I'm an Omega and Seiko fanboy but I gotta put the foot down on Tag haters. The Carrera at around $2k is not bad if you like the design. The Oris/Longines still have SW200 well into the high $2k territory as well.

I made my own microbrand watch with a peseux 7001 movement and sell it maybe for 1500€ so dont understand why this is over 3k except the name

Tissot Gentleman beats this in every way. For $700.

Definitely cheaper but not better looking in the eyes of many beholders. Watch prices describe the world as it is, while value shoppers try to describe the world in a normative way. Ultimately the people buying TAGs feel better about buying a TAG than a Tissot and Tissot buyers feel better about settling for a Tissot.

no one's giving it for free, that's why it's £3000 ... quality watch, but the power reserve could've been better.
