I’m so glad you brought up how her voice has changed over the years. I too feel as if her raspiness NOW, comes from constantly singing over the years and probably age. It was something I always noticed but I’m glad it’s not just me. Her voice isn’t as full as it used to be (and that’s okay).

I think what people meant by it's similar to her old ost is in the term of the song itself, her ost since hotel del luna mostly utilized her breathy head voice and falsetto unlike her early ost where she belt and have actual climax to the song. Her voice changes is for the better in long term and i'm very happy that she's aiming for longevity like she promised and she still able to pull that chest voice if the song calls for it (like into the unknown) so it's really a matter of choice

you can still talk about it for hours and I would still be watching so don't say no one wants to see it! xoxo

Her strong vocal cords and great vocal techniques make her to be versatile on any musical genre! This is why Taeyeon is irreplaceable vocalists in Kpop industry❤❤

Please check out I blame on you. One of my favourite in her full album My voice. I love Taeyeon’s resonance in that song. She sounds more like “Taeyeon in early 20s”.

I love it when Taeyeon sings ballads! I hope you check out the producer of the song, NAUL. He’s from the group Brown Eyed Soul. He does have a lot of solo works as well.

I really love this song❤️ as expected of King Taeyeon❤️

Yay finally! I agree her voice has definitely gotten huskier. There's a similarity between her and Jojo that I can't quite place but it's there. The reason I felt she took more of her older approach to this ballad is simply because she is adding a lot more chest to her belts and dialed back on the brightness. I know Taeyeon does a more heady bright mix but with this ballad there was so much more chest. If you compare the climaxes of her last ost You & Me and this song, it is night and day just because she went so heady and bright there and in most of her recent work. Great reaction

Lyrics of this is sad kinda sad but sound and her belt (like 2:41) brings me so much happinnes

This is definitely her old singing style (2007-2014) which is why it sounded more chesty then before. That’s why it sounds like her older OST’s like Can you hear me, Love that one word, etc

Her vocal definitely have changed over the years in a way that I think benefits her career tremendously because something that make her stand out and adapt with the trends of music is her ability to navigate through genres and not feel out of place and knowing the vocal savant Taeyeon is makes this slight change feel very intentional. Also i remember reading an article about her a while back and a producer commented on how it’s shame her “idol image” distracts from how great a singer she is which I don’t agree with but it makes me think (a frightening but intriguing thought for me) where would her voice be if she didn’t debut in SNSD and was just a solo artist her whole career. Because during her time as a trainee that very chesty open rich voice is where she gravitated toward naturally and her vocal trainers in SM helped her grow in the sound too because her trainers saw her being a solo artist but her time in SNSD which of course is more pop centric overall and the crazy amount she was singing and how young she started the different styles explored in SNSD of course had a huge influence and who Taeyeon is today. I can also go crazy talking about Taeyeon voice and career because I love her and her talent so much so let me stop my rambling 😅 I’m on a Patreon so if you ever want to do a deep deep dive on Taeyeon’s voice I’ll be over there to watch 😂

It is really evident in the song Rain on me. It made me think of Dooyoung at times

as a 13 years Sone, some may say she has lose her whole voice now compared in her debut years, but I disagree. This is just one song. Dont forget, Taeyeon sings on what the song requires and she is a very flexible singer she can have light voice to a whole deep voice in a second. So keep that in mind.
