Y'all.. Every veteran kpop idol has a song like this. And if they don't, feelings akin to these, or even darker, are written on their journals or ripped up/burned notebook pages somewhere. This isn't about the good old loneliness that comes from losing your bf/gf, or even the pain of a friend committing suicide. These are deep, serious troubles that we carry with us every day after they've happened to us. But this is a step further. Taemin is talking about the loneliness of fame, and the cognitive dissonance that comes with it. It hurts more than any of us can actually perceive. It's quite disorienting to hear the words "I LOVE YOU" from so many different people across all these continents; to see them cheer you on and claim they will support you in everything. In all this, there's only one person who knows all these people aren't being truthful: Taemin. Why? Because you can't really love someone without knowing them. Not the image they put out for public consumption; _them_. Taemin is no different than every other human being; he probably has deep flaws that bother him, he's done a bad thing or two, and every once in awhile, he's the villain in someone else's story. These are all normal occurrences the rest of us process and move on from; we might share a meme, or talk to a friend about this horrible thing we did that's giving us immense guilt, or we might even have a public insta-story breakdown. None of this will really affect us, because our growth is not happening in the middle of the public eye, for everyone to judge and see. Taemin had to grow up naked. Everyone had an opinion about things he said and did. It's only natural that he feels not a single soul on earth knows who he really is; I too would feel horribly alone. I hope he has a friend or a gf that he shares this with; no one should deal with this alone.

Thank you for making this comment cause I love every bit of it. A Taemin song is never ever shallow. On the surface, some songs might look like fun, sexy, or kinky. But in actuality, it's much deeper than it may seem. That's why for me, he is no longer an idol but a true artist. In every sense of the word.

I really really really hope he is better now. I cried so hard reading the lyrics. I really wish he will not be so hard on himself and is near people who appreciate him for who he truly is. Because he already does so much and I just wish there are people, who are close to him, who can cherish him, comfort him when he is at his worse. This is everything I want for him. I love you, Taemin, even if I don't know you personally. I just wish you happiness, every human deserves to be happy.

This song spoke to me and reached something deep in me, I’m not gonna lie. I feel super emotional... Listening to the song alone not knowing what it meant I felt calm and knew it had to be something meaningful, but this... it’s so underrated. Such a pretty melody and unique sound and it doesn’t get the recognition

This deep and beautiful song, in my opinion, screams "Jonghyun" somehow. This is how Jonghyun felt. ((IT'S JUST MY THOUGHT, I'm not saying that he couldn't feel the same way too

I’m learning Japanese and I’ve decided that this song must be the first I have to memorise. Even though Taemin is Korean, his songs in Japanese are so deep, unreal, magical...When I grow older, I can tell my grandchildren about how deep this song touched my heart.

I genuinely cried when i listed to the lyrics. i’ve been going through a lot lately. i felt like i was stuck being someone i’m not just so i don’t get judged but then i met someone that made me feel like i could open up and share my life with. i felt so lost and scared to be who i really was but when i was around that person i just wanted to stay there forever and now that i’ve lost that person i can sincerely and truly feel this song. i don’t think anyone deserves to be stuck in an oasis of constant fear of being judged for who they really are. Taemin is such a talented artist, he makes raw deep and emotional songs that people can put there thought in. he’s really one of a kind and i’m so happy to be his fan.

This relates to me so much. I had depression and I was a very rude girl that didn't care about peoples feelings besides some people from my family and friends. I wanted to run away or kill myself. My friend new about my depression and tried helping me but I never accepted the things she tried telling me to do. she then introduced me to kpop. All I thought of K-pop was just stupid things and that their music sucked even though I never listened to it. She played some of BTS's songs. I was still depressed and besides one thing has changed. I cared about people more frequently. I then started getting into more kpop idols and I became less negative and I was more happy. I went to a counselor in my school and talked about my feelings. I felt more refreshed and had some weight lifted off my shoulders. I think that if I never opened my heart I would be dead already. I'm very blessed that I'm alive and that K-pop is in my life.

I have abandonment issues and tell myself they will end up leaving sooner or later. I hope you and Too Tired To Care have found ways to cope and found comfort and happiness, even in little things. Keep fighting. Always think that whatever hurt you are feeling or hardships you are going through now, these too shall pass.

This is one of Taemin's songs that I can really relate to. I felt this one.

We all have to acknowledge and face our dark side, so we can move toward the light. Work through it. It may take time. If you can't overcome it completely, at least accept it..........when people leave you, it isn't because of you. What is meant to be will be (fate). The one you want, need and love is out there. Some people find them early in their lives, while others search for a long time. When the time is right they will appear. Don't beat yourself up. Be kind to yourself. Love yourself first. Flaws and all. This is what makes us human. No one is perfect. Your life is a journey. Sometimes you will encounter delays, landslides, earthquakes and detours. But we will also encounter beauty, love, kindness and enlightenment. It will come over time. I wish for you a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on and two arms to lift you up when needed. There are some tiny mistakes in the translation too, for example he says "hontou no boku wo dakeshimete tonight" "hontou" = real So literally it's "real me hold tonight" I really like this video and I'm using it to keep up my studies. Some of the English translations, although makes sense, could be flipped to match the Japanese line a bit more. Some of lines contain translated parts from the previous line because it's how you would more naturally say it in English.

I wanted to add that the translation is not right. There are many mistakes, I dunno how it was translated, the person tried, but his level in japanese is... meh. TTTT i'm sorry, my english is so bad, I dunno if I could translate it... But I think you can find a more correct translation elsewhere.

@@user-wi5lf2xd2h Yeah I have noticed that his Japanese isn't the best. I listen to Japanese singers so I can hear the difference in pronunciations. You're right I need a better translation for sure. Also don't worry your English is really good. 😊 👍 Some people who were born and raised speaking English still aren't the best at it. There are so many rules for punctuation and words. It's gets confusing to be honest lol. So are you Japanese?

@@AyumiSeto1 Actually, Taemin is really good at japanese. He is easily understandable. I was quite surprised, some korean singer have a stronger accent. It's just the translation here that I think has some issues (but still, the global meaning is the same). And thank you. I'm always a bit anxious when I have to write in english. I guess it's mainly because I'm affraid of making mistakes. I'm not japanese, but I study japanese at the university (and I studied it in high-school too, but now that's really "serious" ah ah). But this song is easily understandable for me, the grammar isn't that convoluted. Maybe the translator of this video used the korean translation..? She/He may speak korean, and based her/his translation on it, that could explain why it's like this. You have an additional gap when you translate the translation of a song...

I also missed that you were talking about the person who translated lyrics for the video. I agree, I think he/she may speak Korean. It's very likely that the translation was based on that. You're welcome. I know what you mean about being nervous when it comes to using a language you learned. I'm trying to learn Japanese and Korean. I've very nervous about getting it right. Also translation is a very tricky thing because words can have so many different meanings between languages. Like the word read (past tense) as in she read a book. Can become read (present tense) as in He will read the book. Then there are synonyms. Honestly almost makes me dizzy. I have learned that context can get lost when translating things. Also not every word used in English is used in other languages. I can't forget that sentence structures can change depending on the language. "May I smoke?" in English is translated into Japanese as "Smoke may I?" but in Japanese. This phone doesn't have the Japanese keyboard yet. I have to download it. So where are you from? I'm always glad to make a new friend. 😄
