These are helpful pointers. I often saw students attempt to kick higher than their flexibility allowed during tests, causing them to lose their balance. That head drop during kicking you mentioned is so common!

With the attention stance in my taekwondo classes we actually do feet together and the toes apart with the hands a little below the belt in a open fist.
I need to relax. I want to send a video in of me doing the techniques taught in the white belt classes but; I feel that I need to practice my pivots alot more. It sucks performing them on carpet.
