Thanks goodness for your video ! I own a gravel, a Spe Diverge sport with Shimano 105 brake system. It is no easy to install the cassette and find the right axe for my frame...(well for a beginner like me) but I did it... Unfortunately after 2 hours working on it, when I finally finished, I realized that the brake was scratching the HT ! After searching, I understood the 5mm was missing of course, but I did not know where to install it !!! I changed the cassette, the axle, etc... 2/3 times, I was getting crazy. So, without you, I would have sold the Tacx on ebay !! Really...

very good video as about to buy the 2T and me and missis have different bikes , she has the norm quick release and i have the 142 thru with disc brakes . glad dont need to change cassette over . even though i do have to buy a cassete thats in the middle of the 2 bikes , mine has 34t and shes got 30t .. so will get 32t so it dont mess with di2 settings . i will only change over to my bike if im going to do over 50 milers or more , shorter rides i can just use her bike and this would be worth doing changing axles on bigger rides .. thanks again for the video its really helped in deciding ..

After installing I also had the issue of the disc brake hitting the body of the Trainer. In the manual of the adaptor kit it says to only use the Black 5mm Ring on 148x12mm thru axle. I have a 142x12 standard thru axle. Do I risk damaging the frame By using your method as per instruction the Ring is only for 148x12mm? I would really appreciate a Response. Thanks for the Video!!

Thanks!!! Btw. I put mine on loosening the brake caliber not ideal, then saw your video. W the spacer will you have to retune the shifting. Does the spacer stress the frame by increasing the width between the drop outs?

@@xS0CIAL0UTCASTx Thanks... It worked great.. Had to use 2 of the 2.7mm spacers to get the clearance. I heard there's a 4mm one out in the wild, but TACX-Garmin did not have or know of one... Anyway, great fix.. Thanks..

I'm a bit confused. I currently have a conventional quick release bike set up on my Neo 2T. I want to change that and put my thru axle Trek Checkpoint. I see that Garmin sells an adaptor kit with its own special skewer. Do I need to get that kit or can I use the skewer that came with the Neo and just swap in the 12x142 mm spacer/adaptors? Thanks for the great video!

I dont use my Aeroad on the trainer as Canyon dont warranty their frames for 'rigid' trainers (it's ok on rollers) I also have the luxury of a second bike (Aluminium Cube CX pro, seen in the video) so keep the Aeroad for fine sunny days... glad the video helped 👍 #rideon

I'm nearing the same gripe at the moment. Does the addition of spacer not mean its now got a width of 147 ( 42 plus 5mm spacer?). so how does it still fit? much appreciated Will

I reality most frames are actually wider than 142mm and reliey on the through axle to pull the parts together and make everything rigid. In the case of my 142mm frame adding the spacer made the frame sit on the Neo better. But I also understand other frames may not. But in all frames they designed with an element of flex in the design. Unless it's an original boneshaker... 🤣

I want to use the Canyon Endurace CF SL Disc 8.0 bike with the Neo 2T, it has a rear thru axle that is 12 x 142, following your video do you think I should be ok as far as the clearance between the tacx housing and rear brake and bike should fit properly.

I would say try it standard first... if you have an issue with the brake caliper touching... then carry out the modification... I have an Aeroad and never use.it on the Neo but I have tried to fit it but couldn't due to the Rear axle threaded section NOT being pass through and capped for aerodynamics I assume.
