👍Yep me too.... I’m left eye dominant, shoot a long gun lefty, and although I shoot a pistol more often right handed; I’m pretty decently ambidextrous and can run the gun either way without a lot of difficulty.... though if I have the choice with the pistol I tend to stick with the “righty” lol....it’s strange though how my trigger finger seems to feel more natural or in control (for lack of a better description) shooting a rifle with my left hand trigger finger but a handgun completely flips the script.... I’m not real sure what kind of weird physiolgical mojo is goin on but hey it works LOL😄

Best lefty video I've found so far. I'm actually right handed, but I was taught archery by eye dominance, and that carried over into non-handgun firearms for me, so, being an avid mil-sim type hobbyist, that gets in the way a lot.

It gets in the way? Shooting since 13 years now. Got an crosseye dominance to the left eye. Shooting Pistole right sided rifle leftsided it gives me only pros til now, can switch shoulder transitions without losing much accuracy and can also working down all manipulation. The only con is the belt management, where to place the dump pouch ;)

20 years of manipulating the M-16/M-4 in the Marine Corps and I am a right-handed, left eye dominant shooter. I actually find this platform to be easy for the "left-handed" shooter. I think it's easier to make magazine changes and manipulate the safety. Racking the bolt is pretty much the same regardless. Maybe this is just what I'm used to doing. I've shot right-handed rifles and shotguns (left-handed) all my life and trying to shoot a left-handed version seems strangely awkward for me when it should be easier. Great video and a sense of confirmation that what I have been doing for years, to address such issues, seems to be the best course of action.

Im lefthanded. Spent 12 years in Canadian infantry. Lots of shooting courses. These drills being shown here…..on emergency reloads i would rack my charging handing from the top with palm down. Its waaaaaay better than this. No canting the weapon. Manipulating the safety id keep my thumb on left side for selecting fire and use the same hand index finger for back on safe. As I go more specialized though i had the techs put an ambi safety and bad lever on my gun. Much better. With the c9 or m249 in US i actually wore soccer shin pads on my right arm. I shot that thing from the standing alot with the shorty barrel and pistol grip. The link and brass would hit my right arm and tear it up. I painted some plastic soccer shin pads and wore them under my combat shirt. It worked amazing. Looked like I had a bionic arm but she saved my arm.

Great video! It just seems to me though that with all the technology we have now, lefty shooters should have an easier option with guns that are made predominantly for right handed use. Especially in regard to AR types. Designers should have their designs saved on a computer right? Idk why they can't just take a 3D model and flip it completely so that everything becomes a mirror image that is lefty friendly. Sure safety usually comes dual switch so that not much of an issue. G36 has a nice idea with their ambidextrous rack and reload, contour that is also ambi, yet it still ejects cases on the right side. I guess that's my only gripe really, just having a design that allows both left or right ejection or having a ready design for lefty customers readily available also

Provided you have one with a brass deflector, the only item I considered a “necessary” change would be an ambidextrous safety. Everything else you can work around with enough practice, though I’ll admit the likes of the Kalashnikov and the M1/M1A/Mini-14 lineup tend to be more lefty friendly IMO.

Very silly question but where does the strap across your chest end? I love that configuration but don't know how I would achieve that.

It’s a Single-point sling. It wraps around the body and only attaches at 1 point towards the rear of the firearm. Behind the grip in this case.

TWINN3DG3CKO 121 I've only fired a bolt action for hunting (lifelong civilian), but what I do is rotate the rifle about 45° counter clockwise with the bore as the axis of rotation, reach over the top with my left hand and work the action. As for how that translates into tactical shooting, ymmv.

I bought a Mauser yugo 24/47 with a straight bolt handle. I think that this makes it easier for left handed operators.

Thx for the info. Life is weird being a lefty. Bought my dad an AR for Christmas. When we shot it, the brass burned my neck so bad, and went down my shirt 😂. Won’t be shooting that gun again

I am a left handed shooter the first thing I did was put an ambidextrous Charging handle on my AR. I've never had to move the gun from its firing position to do any of the things he is doing. Keep in mind I have only been into the shooting Or guns in general for the past 4 years. I have only had an argument for 2 years so maybe I am doing it wrong.

In general this is good information. But I realized this is useless when it comes to states where pistol grips on an AR is illegal. The workaround I found is to just install as many of the control on your left side. That may cost a bit but it helps assure better grip and retains mechanical function.
