I have been watching football since 1981, and Morocco is one of the very few teams in those 40 years that has truly captured my heart as a football fan. Others were Ajax in 1994-1995, Real Madrid in 1999-2000 & 2021-2022. Not surprisingly, these teams had a great surplus of technical qualities, a very clear structure, game plan and strategy and were managed by tactical very clever coaches. But most of all, they displayed such an enormous pleasure in their game style that it was totally infectious, a sheer joy to watch and an absolute inspiration. For that, I thank you Morocco! You have shown the world that not only an African team can advance deep into a World Cup, but you have also given hope to millions of people around the world, who got tired and bored of possessional football à la Spain, who were fed up with the endless passing back and forth; and who were longing to see a team bring the joy back into the game. My heartfelt congratulations for everyone on the Moroccan team, I cannot wait to see you play again!

That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Griezmann was just such a menace yesterday. He played soo well as a line breaker. He cut off many passes, regained possession, initiated attacks... He was almost like a defensive midfielder

Griezmann has all the traits of Zidane. He too never held the ball for more than few seconds and studied the game immensely well on field. Which allowed him to pass the ball to the players efficiently. Griezmann does the same. He reads the game all too well as it progresses and handles it with his quick thinking.

Star of the game ... played the entire pitch with excellence & endless energy ... truly Brilliant !!!

A couple of things I observed: 1. France maintained that narrow shape in midfield but the quartet shifted depending on the direction of the ball. 2. France had a good plan to stop Morocco from exploiting the space left by Mbappe. Hakimi inverted for the first 15 mins and Fofana was tight marking him which means he got dragged out of position sometimes so Tchuoameni provided cover too to stop Morocco penetration. 3. Morocco was able to get runs into the half space with Hakimi and Ounahi while Ziyech hugged the touch line or sometimes inverted. Fofana also got dragged out of position because of Hakimi but this also helped in providing support to Hernandez 4. Very solid performance from Morocco and they showed that they’re not just a “park the bus” team. I’m very proud of the Atlas Lions 🇲🇦

Thank you! The referee weren't fair with Morocco at the semi-final vs France. We get robbed! 2 penalties for Morocco and the referee was like a blind man! Where is the VAR? Why they give easy penalties for teams like argentina? It's clear! Morocco surprised them with a stunning football style, they have beat Belgium, Spain, Portugal... and they made the fears hard for them. The injuries of Aguerd, Saiss, Mazraoui and many other players made the things difficult. Then the referee comes to drope our hopes, fifamafia is the right expression for what happened to us. I told everybody this, as a Congolese I was rooting for Morocco (Even though they knocked us out in Qualifiers, they represented for Africa very well). You should know we aren't getting anything our way, even if it's deserved, FIFA was against Africa (Morocco) because we knocked off 3 of their powerhouses in Belgium, Spain and Portugal. FIFA doesn't like it when their cash cows like Brazil or Portugal get knocked out.

Morocco's number 1 adversary that day was exhaustion. I try not to focus on the what ifs, but rather celebrate our bois' historical run. We'll be back stronger for the African title. Thank you all for cheering alongside us

Yesterday I would have liked to see Morocco with all their starters at 100% to really get a feel for what an African team could do against the world champions. Unfortunately we had to keep the injured captain on the field to bring his calm and experience to the defence. This required an unusual tactical change for a team used to playing in a 4 1 4 1 formation.

One thing I noticed is that teams who are playing a strong defensive game(bus parking maybe) are still vulnerable... And the way around those teams is early goals and more importantly, playing the same style against them. When they got the possession, they are much less sharp in their attacks (Morocco was really good but they lacked the finesse in finish) and allowing them to have the ball forced Morocco to widen the pitch and the counters and transitions really hurt them

Morocco already knew they didn't have any good striker, this has been an issue for Morocco for years now. Morocco only has Nesry who gets tred quickly, all the others are from second or 3rd division teams or some obscure arab leagues

Both finalists are like for like match…Even Messi who is the beast in possession is enjoying quite a good success …. Argentina play back passes and Messi is not getting to much of passes…. I honestly think Messi should take it regardless. He carried his team, he participated in every game with an assist or goal or both. He creates the most chances and is a constant threat in every game.

I m so sick of people asking did they deserve it, were there the better team bla bla bla. When are you going to understand that france always plays like that and end up the vast majority of the time scoring more goals than their opponent ? Appreciate your explanation. It does seem that there is more to Morocco than "team spirit" (as stated by Moroccan coach at their Qatat press conference). The Moroccan team got to the semi-final because they have good athletes, excellent footballing skills, and a sound strategy given their challenges.

In the end we see how the experience and the history matters. Apart from Brazil ofc, those are the 2 most prestigious teams from the quarter finals that are now in final. Morocco will probably benefit from this WC experience to be stronger in future.

@J S well, I rewatch that match against Italy, they went brutal with them first, the referees intentionally rig for Koreans, they just get pissed up and react. And also, Korean government had a certain influence in the coming refs. That period, clearly unacceptable till now, Qatar's case as well. First time WC takes place in winter, players had to grind 3 matches/week.....lots of things to discuss after the event like Korean/Japan

Yes specially on the game against italy they won by the referee playing yugioh with his cards against italy. If you want to compare it, it is Greece in the Euros 2004. Because it is not compareable to turkey or south korea in 2002

Morocco's back line got exposed with out fully fit centre backs. This shows how important regular centre backs are in a match especially in the case of Morocco where each players are integral to their set up.

@@reda1668 if you are from Morocco you know how unfair it is to consider injuries facing the french squad ;) it remains true that the depth of the bench is so important to win a WC. considering this, France in finale is some miracle. with the entire squad ( Kimpembé, Hernandez, Kanté, Pogba, Benzema ....) it would have been quite impossible to have any hope for any squad facing France. Deschamps had to build from ... september .. october ... and then add new elements just before the WC. at the start we were just hoping for a quarter.... there we are ;)

France and Argentina in semi-finals gave the ball to their opponents. I'm curious, how it'll go on in the final.

France gave the ball to Morocco, because the previous matches Morocco won with 27% or 40% possession , but Deschamps wanted Morocco to come out of their comfort zone, France can beat any opponent I think a complete team in all areas

+ ze pequeno France needed an early goal and got it to break the Moroccan defensive Phalanx. Get them out of their gameplay. They got it as fate would have it. Morocco was behind the count for the first time and showed that they had what it took to go for it. Didnt crumble. Close but not enough. If they had more finess and a Hakimi level forwards, those missed goals would have been goals and France out. 2-0 is a deceptive score. It did not reflect a French dominance over Morocco as the score would indicate.

It was very tactical as usual, from both side, moroccan manager had to make very hard decision to play the game since there are many injured players and the first goal of france complicated the hole thing, pushing morocco to play more offensive at any cost, if it couldn't be 1-1, the risk was 2-0, but bad luck with many chances , and france won the game, despite the referees bad interventions, France deserves the win, today again we couldn't play our game, 4 players from the defence line was injured, but again it was fair game, at this level we re very proud of this team and hopefully we will back stronger, who knows, and thanks for the support

First off, fantastic analysis. Second, please tell me what programs you use to do this and how did you gain such tactical knowledge of the game?? What books or resources do you recommend? I have tapped a lot of information for players and positional related resources but I’m transitioning to coaching and need to find more big picture information on the game. For me, I understand different formations and how that impacts play but it’s hard to understand how that interacts with the opponents strategy and determine how to adapt and counter and exploit weaknesses in the opponent.

What kind of screen en programma do you use?

Morocco looked a little bit out of shape, especially in the last touches in front of the goal, as if all the efforts to reach these dangerous situations were draining them of the last oumph needed to have a clearcut chance. France looked physically more solid throughout. Hernandez is very undervalued.

Unlucky for morocco , they had lot of injuries too like aguerd saiss and mazraoui , better luck next time 👏👏

The all plan of Maroco in this world cup also worked beacause of their other oponent underestimating them. Portgual, Spain, Belgium etc... were always like : Ok we just score and its over they can't resist. But France played a much more intelligent game and putted the marocan in a situation of ball possession that their were not used to. Big W for France but credit to Maroco, unbelivable team incredible level nobody expected them at this level of the competition

+ Heartjin Only difference betwen France and the others is France scored when the others didnt. Not that they playedintelligent football and all that blah, blah. They got an early goal that forced Morocco out of its Phalanx formation and style of play, and to Moroccos credit showed the world they could be offensive and hold their own. They HAD to have more of the ball. France didnt give them crap. In fact, Morocco showed Argentina some pointers on how to approach French defense. France was not the superior team, and 2-0 is a deceptive score. France had the ethos while Morocco showed they were a bit overwhelmed from the get go. I would have just long balled it every time France forcing them to get the ball and have the initiative like Spain and Portugal. lONG BALL IT EVERY TIME. Anything but break the Phalanx gameplay.

A football analyst, before the semifinals, stated that Morroco victories were of the Pyrrhic kind. I guess it was the right term. Even if they do win, they would still have to do it against Messi. I expected to see Morocco play its rigid zone defense as they have in every game before. They would only come out if they fell behind. But that's not what we saw. From the start, Morocco abandoned what got them there, instead playing an agressive defense too far out, battling for possession. A dumb steal attempt handed France its first goal, and the game was basically over in five minutes. What was the Moroocan coach thinking? Why did he send his team out to play a new defense that failed almost immediately?

The biggest downfall for Morocco not playing the final is the sheer amount of injuries and fatigue as we dont have a good enough bench ...yet!

Heartbreak for Morocco but a great defensive play they have shown. It is unfortunate that the few times they slipped up were exploited by France for two goals. Morocco was going in with injured and exhausted defenders plus bad strikers. We weren’t going to win against a team like France. But even despite all that we played a very good game.

The Morrocan players had too much pressure on them to be effective. They absolutely had to win, because they had the Arab Muslim world and Africa behind them. The fans who whistled non-stop, the French players, were anything but sporting. It was too much, it was no longer a sporting event but a conflict, it's sad for soccer !

Several teams shone: Morocco, Croatia, and Ghana way above the expectation. The most disappointing was Spain and its Tiki Taka; will make a somnambulist go back to bed.

Putting five defenders doesn't make sense because France won't want the ball. France give the ball away and retreat to the defense, so Argentina must skillfully pull them out of the defensive zone by dragging them into their own half. Personally, I would bet on a fairly wide 4-3-3, but it does not matter, because the main idea should be to limit the space by condensing the middle of the field and gaining an advantage on the wings, which also allows the setting with two pivots 4-2-3-1 The most will depend on the coach's decision-making and tactical discipline. @@thehunter6563 I feel Scaloni will stay with the 4-4-2, unless Di Maria is healthy. A 5-3-2 will result in the wing backs progressing up the field to assist the attack and a 4-3-3 would only work with healthy Di Maria being able to track back in defense. The 4-4-2 provides enough defensive cover on the wing and centrally. Messi and Alvarez are dangerous enough upfront, and they should target France's left side of defense. They can attack from that side with Messi cutting inside from the right to take on Hernandez, Upomecano/Konate. I feel to limit Mbappe progress Molina might have to stay back and not progress as high in the attack, Romero and Otamendi then contain Giroud attacking near or far post. Acuña versus Dembele. Should be a great game with 2 excellent teams. Hoping for a 2-1 victory for Argentina 🇦🇷
