Tacoma's Pipeline Trail to Urban Farms, Suburbs, Busy Streets & Housing Projects Musical Dog Walk

Today we are walking a portion of the Pipeline Trail in Tacoma Washington. The trail starts from Swan Creek Park and First Creek Middle School and heads south into some urban farmlands, into some quiet Tacoma suburbs and onto busy 72nd street and back through some housing projects and then back to the car to finish the loop walk.
Sit back and chill to some relaxing music and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Pacific Northwest as I take you on a virtual tour/dog walk from my point of view.

I had a dog named Emily, who I said goodbye to almost a year ago after 14 years, who looks almost exactly like Ruby. Same shape, coat, color, walk,.. its a little surreal. So much so that my puppy that knew her for her whole life up till the end, was watching this video (it came on randomly), cried and whined. She misses Emily as much as I do, and now I cant have this play because of how sad it makes her. But I still come back here every once in a while just watch Ruby walk and explore like my girl Em used to.

Sorry to hear about your loss, that’s sad to hear about the puppy missing Emily. I got Ruby when my previous dog, Mary, nicknamed “M or Em” was 13. They spent 6 years together, Mary was almost 20 when she passed. It took Ruby a while to get over it, she was confused and sad because they were together since she was a pup. Sounds like Emily was almost the same age as Ruby, she will be 15 in August. We just keep walking every day for as long as we can and just really appreciate each one. 🐕🐾🐾

Did Ruby have some kind of surgery before this one? Her hair looked shaven. Hope she's ok!

Ruby is good, thanks for your concern and for asking. Long story short, we have 2 cats that are brothers and are very protective of one another, they are Ruby's best friends and get along very well but one day Ruby accidentally stepped on one of their tails as they were all going through a doorway and when the cat hissed his brother came over and out of instinct gave Ruby a swipe with his paw. It didn't seem like a big deal but apparently he must have got a claw in her skin because a few days later she had a small abscess. It should have been a simple drain and get some antibiotics but the vet either botched the simple procedure or purposely made it worse. It was during the pandemic and all the vets were booked for weeks so the emergency was the only option also I couldn't accompany her to the back like usual so I'm not sure exactly what happened but when she came out she was all bloody and they had cut her up on her side pretty bad. It was supposed to be a simple procedure but now she had to have some skin removed and get stitched up. From maybe a couple hundred dollars to thousands. I couldn't take her elsewhere because of the backup and now it was more urgent so she had to have it done that day. She healed up quick and is fine but it was all completely unnecessary.
