You can still move your lower control arms forward to the max if you want to. Adjust the front cams so the bolts are positioned towards the inside. I would move the tires all the way forward since you have a high clearance front bumper. It’ll help with rubbing at the rear of the tires.
@ArkansasOffroad

I have the Backwoods Adventure Mods prototype skid plate (in the video). Check out my most recent video for the final production skids. They will actually be released on our website by the end of this week. And yeah, they're way more beefy than the factory skids. These are .25" aluminum.
@christophersmith2670
2 жыл бұрын
@@ArkansasOffroad aluminum is definitely gonna be a plus I believe. That much coverage would weigh a metric scheit ton if it was all steel. I was thinking about having someone put together a dom 95 "spider web" design for me to save on weight and still cover all the essentials.
@shootinbruin3614 Жыл бұрын
Great video. Sick looking truck! Minor correction for 20:07 - Caster is determined by the relationship between the UCAs and LCAs, not just how forward the wheel is. Moving the wheel forward with the LCAs increases positive caster but doing the same with those SPCs actually takes some positive caster away. This is not necessarily a bad thing as the wheel still moves forward and it brings caster back closer to factory specs

I am still rubbing on my upper arm at about 60% into a turn... ( bidirectional maneuvers). I have 17 Tacoma with Camburg billet arms with 2.5 King coilovers at around 1.75 or 1.90 inch lift. A little shy of 2 inches with exact same wheels, except in gold, with 315s BFG KO2s. I have cab relocation kit and all the fenders are trim or cut off. I have some spacers coming in the mail right now. I hate this rubbing thing on the upper arm....I should have done more search about this arms before I pulled the trigger. my camber is maxed out according my alignment guy, these spacers better save my ass.. PS my arm also rubs into my driver side hose leading to my shock reservoir ....super annoying.

I know that you have your reasons as to why you went with 16" wheels. I wished that I could had kept mine. However, you may run into the same issues I had when I went with 35"s. I've regard with 4.88's and slapped on some KM3's and totally smoked my front pads in less than 10K miles. So I had to upgrade to a big brake kit. Powerstop. They're pretty big. 17" wheels were the minimum size I could go with.

Bigger tires don't mean shit when it rubs into your fender well while flexing. it doesn't give much of a lift. A bigger tire compliments better when you have a actual suspension lift with modified shackle hangers, gear ratio change, lighter durable rims, and longer springs/leafs. Real off roading consists of that type of setup for flexibility and definitely height clearances as it should be for.
@toku582 жыл бұрын
Your SPC should be set at setting "G" that is the SPC ball joints forward. Both LCA cams should be set so you tires are moved all the way forward! Then your alignment shop needs to use the sliding adjustment to get you Camber correct and that would give you the Maximum clearance for the Cab mounts and the pinch welds. You have them set O.K. and it works. But it is Not the Optimum setting for the SPC to make full use of their adjustability!
@ArkansasOffroad
2 жыл бұрын
I started there for the first alignment, but it was pulling super bad to one side. I had my lowers maxed, and it on G, but it wouldn’t go straight. And there wasn’t enough adjustment in my camber on my UCA’s still for some reason. I was still super positive camber, being maxed on my upper so they had to adjust the lower. Putting on a new lift soon, so I’ll go through the process again lol. Thanks!

What do u feel’s the main difference between bead grip wheels vs these new ones u put on?? R ur new wheels true headlock? Or is that just for aesthetic? Do they also have the bead grip on them?
Are you ever planning on the MC RCLT setup? Also My tires/wheels are 154 LBS apiece, 37" humvee mtrs with double beadlock and pvc insert. I felt the power loss from them so I can believe you felt the gain by cutting weight

How much lift do you have with the king shocks?
35s looking great! Been following you since your jeep days. Do those new tires have a little bit better rock terrain capability? i noticed those notches on the very top of the sidewall.
Damn 20k miles those tires held up great!
uncharge the shocks, barly loosen the fittings, rotate the fittings down more vertical, tighten fitting, droop suspension, and recharge the shocks to 150 psi.

What front bumper is that?
You can still move your lower control arms forward to the max if you want to. Adjust the front cams so the bolts are positioned towards the inside. I would move the tires all the way forward since you have a high clearance front bumper. It’ll help with rubbing at the rear of the tires.
@ArkansasOffroad

What skid plate do you have and how much coverage does it give? As in how far back. It looks dope on that truck and is probably WAY sturdier than my factory TRD OffRoad plate. Thanks in advance.

I have the Backwoods Adventure Mods prototype skid plate (in the video). Check out my most recent video for the final production skids. They will actually be released on our website by the end of this week. And yeah, they're way more beefy than the factory skids. These are .25" aluminum.
@christophersmith2670

@@ArkansasOffroad aluminum is definitely gonna be a plus I believe. That much coverage would weigh a metric scheit ton if it was all steel. I was thinking about having someone put together a dom 95 "spider web" design for me to save on weight and still cover all the essentials.

The old school more sidewall/less wheel look is where it's at....not to mention more protection for wheel beads.
Big tires on an IFS, cv axle goes snappy snap. And time to regear, your transmission just told you on the highway O.o? And get ready to chop more of your taco for clearance running 35s.

You may want to put some seam seal on those pinch welds.
We all know weight per corner is important but do you think that an extra 10 pounds of tire is worse than an extra 10 pounds of wheel? Due to centrifugal force?

Great point, and you’re probably correct talking about centrifugal force. I definitely felt a difference accelerating, but in theory, that totally sounds right.

Those rims must be a lot lighter... Because generally speaking the bigger the tire the it heavier ways. Tires usually always outweigh the rims if you go with aluminum that is. Steel wheels would be a different story. I worked in a tire department for 5 years and never felt a bigger rubber tire that was lighter.

@ArkansasOffroad
Thanks!
