I like it. I just got an Arbor Arms Medical Nut Ruck to try. Found the dangler setup I was using a little difficult to see in and all the contents could spill out in the floor. Figured I'd try a fanny setup that I can don and doff pretty easily. Everything is captured and can get laid out on the floor if needed. Fits pretty well over my pistol belt. We'll see how it goes on the next call out.

I can’t believe you guys don’t carry at least a side arm. You dress in nearly the same gear as the rest of the team. Bad guys will probably not differentiate a medic from the trigger squeezers.

I agree. They should take advantage that there is another guy în the team with training în handling a weapon and let him carry one. În my head that would be logical

The least they could do is let you carry a side arm, wont interfere with anything on your vest just adds a few things to your belt. Would be a lot safer even if they said you cant take it out unless you are in a life or death active treat against you.

The question is how often it is necessary to own a side arm for these medics. Considering that they move with an special trained unit that is heavily proficient in the usage of weapon. It is probably just dead weight hanging on your hip and therefor not needet

Sam, thanks for the content. I have a question in your opinion, which companies medic kit would you recommend for the shooting range, such as dark angel, my medic, etc not limited to those specific but it could be from fieldcraft survival or North American supplies what’s your go to for shooting range and med kit to throw in a Jeep or truck to keep in a vehicle. Thank you.

If you’re under 17 or 17 get into a emt program sometimes high schools offer them. Then 18 take your nremt exam go to the army become a 68w start of as a e4 do reserves or active and do your paramedic course and rack up some years and you should be very skilled by 23-24 years and a bad ass like prep medic

Do you have an extra battery for your radio? If not it might be a good idea since if you come home from a full shift using the radio and you get a call the last thing you need is to be out of battery in a bad situation.

They should definitely allow you to be armed with at least a pistol and preferably a rifle the bad guys aren't going to care you are the medic that's why military medics and drs are armed hostiles just see a uniform and a threat and a weapons system will allow you to be self sufficient in event a mci active shooter etc

Not a criticism towards you at all, I have family in law enforcement and know you are at the mercy of your departments rules. That said medics being unarmed is a terrible idea. You don’t have to have a rifle or anything but if you are entering with the team you should at the very least be allowed a pistol.

I don't get the not allowimg them to carrying a weapon and still being allowed in the hot zone. Realistically, I guess it's fine. Most SWAT dudes won't ever fire a shot. Fundamentally it doesn't make sense.

@@PrepMedic To be honest, how much I have met with such variations in the provision of self-help and mutual assistance, all this greatly complicates the matter, no matter how easily it comes unfastened there. And make a video about this by the way) You have a lot of things on your channel, but it’s not about the technique of applying a turnstile. With and without gear. Basics are always important
