TacMed Entry Vest ⎮2023 Update⎮
The 2023 updated setup of my SWAT paramedic vest. As equipment evolves and I gain more experience in the TEMS environment my setup also changes and improves over time.

Always cool seeing your TEMS gear breakdowns!
Oooooh! High quality content! Love it thank you!
Sam I love your videos I really feel like I am reading a lot from you and really appreciate you telling us all of this stuff so we know what to do in a bad situation and can’t wait to see the next video 👍
I like it. I just got an Arbor Arms Medical Nut Ruck to try. Found the dangler setup I was using a little difficult to see in and all the contents could spill out in the floor. Figured I'd try a fanny setup that I can don and doff pretty easily. Everything is captured and can get laid out on the floor if needed. Fits pretty well over my pistol belt. We'll see how it goes on the next call out.
Liked watched and taking notes so my work is almost done
Thank you for sharing. I agree. I find I change/upgrade often myself and find that I am carrying less on me than when I started. However, my truck bag still seems to get heavier, ha ha.
Another GREAT video
Fantastic!
PrepMedic!!!! I really want to meet you. When I grow up.
I can’t believe you guys don’t carry at least a side arm. You dress in nearly the same gear as the rest of the team. Bad guys will probably not differentiate a medic from the trigger squeezers.

I agree. They should take advantage that there is another guy în the team with training în handling a weapon and let him carry one. În my head that would be logical

As a Military Doctor I can say that during a conflict the Red Cross on you will be a primary target. Unfortunately.

u rly want ur medic to pull his sidearm out and start shooting while ur on the ground bleeding out? his job to to drag yer ass to safety not return fire
Could you please do a review on the anti-choking device lifeVac. I would love to here your opinion on this I have see a lot of stuff about it and I’m thinking of adding this to my car kit.
I'm From Thailand A Watching You Daily
The least they could do is let you carry a side arm, wont interfere with anything on your vest just adds a few things to your belt. Would be a lot safer even if they said you cant take it out unless you are in a life or death active treat against you.

The question is how often it is necessary to own a side arm for these medics. Considering that they move with an special trained unit that is heavily proficient in the usage of weapon. It is probably just dead weight hanging on your hip and therefor not needet

Being armed would allow us to be self contained and free up more team resources to deal with the original objective/suspects.
Sam, thanks for the content. I have a question in your opinion, which companies medic kit would you recommend for the shooting range, such as dark angel, my medic, etc not limited to those specific but it could be from fieldcraft survival or North American supplies what’s your go to for shooting range and med kit to throw in a Jeep or truck to keep in a vehicle. Thank you.

If you’re under 17 or 17 get into a emt program sometimes high schools offer them. Then 18 take your nremt exam go to the army become a 68w start of as a e4 do reserves or active and do your paramedic course and rack up some years and you should be very skilled by 23-24 years and a bad ass like prep medic

@@speakit3360 This is true. While I was in my senior year in high school at 18 I did an EMT program to get a head start. It sucked doing all of it at once but it was 100% worth it

@@Tommymad1 my old highschool is offering a bridge program to have pre requirements for paramedic so once they are out of highschool all they have left is the year of paramedic

@@speakit3360 wow, that's incredible. I wish my high school offered an EMT course built in to the curriculum. But honestly my 3 month class in combination with high school worked out well. 2 zoom classes and 1 12 hour skills session per week worked out great with my schedule
Thanks for the video. Can you share what pouch you used for the soft stretcher on the back and how it is mounted horizontally? Thanks
What are you using for a light source to check pupil dialation?
Any suggestion on where to get first-responder training at Alabama . I know there is the stop the bleed program . I would like to know how to utilize everything correctly . I do not want to hurt anyone further than what they already are .
Nice
can you do a video on the atlantic signal comms w/ iphone
What pouch are you running on the back for your patient mover?
First, love your videos!
Admin pocket, so your phone can catch the bullet before the armor 😉
Do you have an extra battery for your radio? If not it might be a good idea since if you come home from a full shift using the radio and you get a call the last thing you need is to be out of battery in a bad situation.

Probably get a fresh battery start of shift.
What are some good resources for someone just starting out in EMS I'm taking my Basic right now and looking for some good study materials etc
@PrepMedic
Жыл бұрын
Honestly right now focus on the resources they give you. Read your text book and take notes in class. That is as high yield as you will get. Once you get done with class you can look for other resources
They should definitely allow you to be armed with at least a pistol and preferably a rifle the bad guys aren't going to care you are the medic that's why military medics and drs are armed hostiles just see a uniform and a threat and a weapons system will allow you to be self sufficient in event a mci active shooter etc
Get some.
No stomach flaps? You'd think a medic would appreciate the advantage of not taking one to the gut and having a couple feet of it cut out forever :D
I know this may be dumb, but honestly I am not a fan of cops, deputies or any type of Law Enforcement wearing camo. Solid colors like grey, green, blue or black fine I guess, but camo should be reserved for the military or civilians.

SWAT medic.
Not a criticism towards you at all, I have family in law enforcement and know you are at the mercy of your departments rules. That said medics being unarmed is a terrible idea. You don’t have to have a rifle or anything but if you are entering with the team you should at the very least be allowed a pistol.
I don't get the not allowimg them to carrying a weapon and still being allowed in the hot zone. Realistically, I guess it's fine. Most SWAT dudes won't ever fire a shot. Fundamentally it doesn't make sense.
All due respect but they should seriously give at least a pistol for defense in the event of unforeseen circumstances...
If your paramedic EMT why can't you carry a firearm
Hey man can you send me some free medical stuff!

@@PrepMedic To be honest, how much I have met with such variations in the provision of self-help and mutual assistance, all this greatly complicates the matter, no matter how easily it comes unfastened there. And make a video about this by the way) You have a lot of things on your channel, but it’s not about the technique of applying a turnstile. With and without gear. Basics are always important
