I bought this because of amazon recommended it, good to see it's a good product.

I built my own from an atx unit.. it works just fine with two constant 5 v usb ports (when the unit is on or off) But I am running out of space so I decided to build a smaller one and found that I could buy this exact power supply for about the same as the parts to make mine.. so I got this.. it also works real fine and I am very pleased with it for all of you that want another opinion.. I see your new shop.. you are gonna need a bigger area.. I started with a bench that small but ran out of space real soon.. good luck will check back on you later.. carry on, stay safe and have fun!

Nice! Good luck on your ham radio. I’ll admit that might be too advanced for me right now. Sounds really fun though, one of my professors at school does this for a hobby.

the slight drop in voltage will be the resistance of the leads your using

should the cooling fan start spinning once powered on or is it activated by a temperature control sensor?

My unit shows the dot in the second position (00.00 amps) and I saw many photos and videos like yours that show the dot in a different position (.000 amps)which means a different resolution, how do I change the resolution of the amps?

Just got one for electrolysis on removing rust. New “smart” battery chargers won’t work.

if i limit the current to 5a then hook up a load that is only taking 2a could i turn up the current to feed it more? say 2.5a or is it stuck only giving it the power it wants when i turn it on

no if you have a resistor that limits the current to 2A, the only thing you would be able to do is increase the voltage. Otherwise you could try taking out any resistors and limiting the current solely through the current limit dial. I test out the integrity of LEDs like this all of the time.

What is the point of having a ground plug. I've seen units that have them and units that don't. I thought negative and ground were the same.

what happens if you join the 2 tips the screen is set to 0 or it keeps marking the voltage

there is a shortage protector so it you join the tips while its live, the supply automatically stops supplying.

It generates DC voltages between 0-30 volts at 0-5 Amps.

Does anyone know if you can set the constant current to 1 miliamp?

You can go up in increments of one milliamperes. So theoretically you can set your current limit to one mA. However, I don’t know how accurate it would be.
