another great painting tutorial a couple of points tho'. As a Brit, I would point out that the jacket turnbacks were white and not in the facing colours, and there is no stripe of facing colour down the centre of the front of the jacket each regiment had its own design of the button lace however at this size it would merely appear plain white. One tip I found in doing the collars cuffs and straps on the backpack is to do them white first then paint the facing colour to leave fine white borders top and bottom of the collar and between the cuff lace and then main backpack colour up to the straps.

Super result. Brightly painted Napoleonics en masse are a sight to behold!

Terrific painting guide. I thoroughly enjoyed painting along with it using a group of 1/72 Strelets British Infantry on the march. They look good, maybe good enough to be the first set of Guards in the Order of Battle that I'm building up - many thanks.

It is either a greatcoat or a blanket. The blanket was made of a heavy wool that kept the soldier reasonably warm. If he had a greatcoat it was made of heavy wool again.

A very good and informative painting technique, but i have to say that the Royal Scots did not have blue down the front of the tunic only the white lines across the tunic in either square ended or Bastion ended.

Real simple. Just a couple layers of sand glued to the base then primed along with the model.

Hi Travis. I have a flesh recipe for you to try. Try Vallejo flesh base,, then your normal Agrax wash, highlight again with flesh base then a final highlight of flesh base and your highlight flesh colour mixed 50/50. It will look great. Give it a go and let me know what you think 👍

I believe I got the trays from War Bases.

I may be wrong, but I thought the British soldiers wear red jackets and brown pants. The red was to hide the blood in battle, and the brown was to hide the fact that they soiled themselves facing Napoleon.

I see you're using the army painter brushes. I have been too, but I've noticed that the brushes I bought 3 years ago lasted a really, really long time (like 2 and half years) but the ones I picked up a few months ago are just f'd up and unusable. I'm just wondering whether you've had a similar experience or did I just get a bad batch of them.

JvC Paints I haven’t noticed them lasting less time. I used one army painter brush to do this whole army and most of the last and just had to buy a new one. I think that’s pretty good for the price.

@@tabletopcp Thanks for the answer. I was blown away that the tips just started fraying after 3 or 4 uses. I'm not a newb at this and I take pretty good care of my stuff, so I was a bit taken aback. Looking forward to your next WWII beat down on Andre. lol

God i must sound like a real nerd ... the D shaped mess tins (canteen) were issued for over 100 years in various forms.

For me...the easiest, quickest way for flesh is to use Wraithbone base and the Guillman Flesh contrast. I've used it on both 28mm and 15mm and it works best.

Yep 28mm
