It was sorting by ascending Profit of "Category", not by "Subcategory" as he was trying to describe.

Hi! have a question, I made a table with its respective order, when I publish the dashboard and people download the data in crosstab format it comes out sorted, however, when they select the "data" option it appears with a random order. Do you know what I can do to make the "data" option appear with the order that I determine? Thank you!

the graph is sorted in ascending order by profit, so when we sum of total profit by category, we see furniture first as total profit occurred in furniture is lowest, total profit for office supplies is higher than that and technology has the highest profit.

I am facing certain issues while data visualization through tableau, as per the guidelines I can import any data file in the said software. So after importing data from excel, software itself bifurcated the measures and dimensions. After dragging gender and age on x and y axis respectively, rather reflecting age like 18, 22, 24, 26....on y axis it is indicating 0, 200, 400, 600, 800, 1200, 1400..... Question: 1. Why it is reflecting in this way? 2. Did I mistaken while data entry? 3. Am I using tableau incorrectly? 4. How to rectify this problem? Thanks & Regards Vidushi

Actually he selected Ascending order for the categories(Furniture, Office Supplies, Technology) keep in mind 'not sub-categories' and aggregation field was selected as SUM. So, it basically sorted all these 'categories' based on their overall total profits sums in the ascending order. So, here profit order was: Furniture

The sorting was wrong , instead of applying sorting in category, apply sorting according to profit in subcategory.
