Tableau - Measure Names Usage

Still confused between Deseret and Continuous , I think you can use discrete line chart more effectively for finding max or min sales/ profit .

We can use. Let's assume we need quarter results from year 2017 and 2018. We can use Discrete if we use Year and later quarter in the shelf then only we get proper results for each quarter in 2017 and 2018. Even though both year and quarter are hierarchical fields, it is good to use Year and later Quarter to get proper results. If we use only Quarter in the shelf then we end up with improper results (bcoz, this time we end up with aggregate sum of all the months from each quarter for 2017 and 2018) Only thing we can observe in continuous is, continuity between each quarter for 2017 and 2018. Here, only Quarter is added in the shelf. (if we see as a difference)
