I liked watching this. Not too many people get down underneath. I'd like to see more details of worm gear and so on?

Absolutely. It's a little hard to get in there to see the inner workings of the table saw with a video camera, but you can download a free article on the subject with more photos here: www.woodsmithplans.com/plan/table-saw-tune-up/

I set the blade to be parallel to my miter slot and this was VERY fiddly and took several tries but I could not believe what a difference that made! I also upgraded the belt and this helped having my old Craftsman 113.XXXX to be running like new. Keeping the ability to do a 45 degree tilt to the blade is much more problematic for me and I have pretty much given up on doing this and use jigs to get that 45 angle cut.

Good chamfer bit in the router table does a better job.

An option to the brass brush is your tooth brush that you should have replaced three year ago? Great video. I like your method of checking that the mitre slot is parallel to the blade. I have a Shopsmith and use a digital angle gauge to set the table to 90 degrees to the blade.

I'm a long-time subscriber to both your KZread channel and your magazine. I really enjoy the videos. I have one problem: When you promise something, you need to deliver on that promise. When you say there will be links in the description, there should be links in the description. I followed both the published links, and neither took me to the items used in the video.

Yep, that was my bad - I was a little quick on the Publish button. Thanks for pointing that out. I've added links to the accompanying material for this video now and also below. Your framing square must be more accurate than most. I use a plastic drafting triangle clamped to my miter gauge. Very accurate.

The blade on my Sawstop would not retract fully. The culprit was saw dust build up at the blade down stop. Saw dust removed - problem solved.

Surprised you used a framing square. Why not a precise square?

After we shot this video, I went home and did the entire tune-up on my own table saw and couldn't believe the difference it made.

Thank you! Clear and helpful. Do you use a blade lube? If so, which do you like?
