Went to a tab this year. After 25 year shooting glove. Wow how much my release is smoother and controlled. Slowed me down to a good anchor point. Great information today as usual.

40 years split finger glove. Switched 3 under tab 2 years ago . Like it better for all the reasons you stated and helped a knuckle injury a lot just like you. The switch was difficult for me. Always thought tab would be a negative hunting for a quick shot. It's not at all. Noticed others switching. Good advice.

Struggling with anchor..took 30yrs off and just getting back into archery hunting..started with a glove because, well that's what I used as a young pup..used to shoot split too. So after about 2-3 months back at it with several different gloves I'm trying tabs 3 under, definitely a smoother release using a fur tab but just ordered a Cordovan tab and will start breaking it in so when the fur goes bald I have a good broken in tab to slide into..one thing ill say is the fur gives a bit of spongy\ Rolling feel to the release that is harder to judge for me coming from a thin Bear glove..still not as accurate as the glove for me but when battling sore old fingers I'm going for the tab as its nicer to my hand..just going to have to warm up to it for a while..hunting is still six or so months out..

Howard Hill and a few others like his nephew prior to the tab being common, they used the glove with the very ends cut off to help with the feel of the anchor as there was not many if any using a tab prior to the 1950's. Tabs were not really found until the 1960's and became rather more common in the 1970's with the popularity of target archery.

When I shot right handed I used a tab and loved it. I started out with gloves back in the 80's, when I started traditional archery, but switched to a tab and shot split finger. Because of a significant injury to my left shoulder in 2013, I had to switch to shooting left handed. When I did, for some reason I don't know, I started shooting 3 under and since I didn't have a left handed tab, used one of my old gloves to shoot with. I have tried several tabs, but just can't get use to them shooting left handed. Since our deer season ends today here in PA, I just might try tabs again in this off season. I did like the tab for all the reasons you stated in this video.

I've recently gone to Tab from glove and I'm loving the clean release! Arrow impact right & left cleared up nicely! It's only been a couple of weeks, but I reckon I'm sold on Tab!

I shoot both and shoot both equally bad. The thing I don’t like about the tab is I’ll wack my noise once in a while. I get a little closer to my face I guess. The best glove I’ve ever shot is the American leather crossover glove. It has slick nylon material on the finger stalls. You get a tab like release. They are pricey, but I think the are worth it.

Robert, I have both those styles of gloves and they seem to work fine. I wouldn't know different though because I change up little things in my technique, and it seems the main reason for some inconsistency. Thanks, enjoyed the video. God bless you.

I lost 4 tabs in 1 elk season 😢 I like the glove for hunting for that reason but I do shoot better with a tab. I am more accurate three under but my bow doesn’t like it. So I must practice a lot. Split tends to be more instinctive for me cause it’s hard to look down the shaft like three under. Thanks for the video.

I have used Gove simply because in the 2000's in 2002 I found out I was left eye dominate and at the time it was hard to find tabs for left hand shooters or if you did they were the cheap thin vinyl type meant for kids under 10 or really cheap vinyl adult large that were more an XL--XXL. I wanted the Tab feel. When getting back I remembered so I like the styles of glove that have the almost strings to the fingers for ease of removal to get the arrow do other things and got an Amazon Knockoff from TOPARCHERY of the 3Rivers Cordoven Tradtional Archery Glove that the kockoff is mostly synthetic foam rubber like leather with reground leather and thin pressed leather top layer for the oval. I wanted the glove mainly becuse I wanted the arm guard like the one this company makes (can't find design in leather) that the company had yet to sell independently the arm guard from the glove in late 2020 early 2021 but by late 2021 early 2022 they sold the arm guard separately. The gloves ovals took a bit longer to work in then most gloves that use better leather. I wanted that type of glove having use a very cheap E-bay Chinese made version of a similar design where they used way too long of elastic straps on the glove and the ovals were synthetic rubber like the glove and used thick thread to sew the ovals to the glove in a summer rec archery program, the one I found out I was left eye dominate in my second class but loved how the ovals told me where to grip the bow and not go too deep or not enough for my hands.

I shot a glove for quite a few years but I sort of got tired of the "grooving" that i got from them. I finally settled in to using a tab and it works best for me. Great video as usual. What I would like to know is where did you get your hat? I really like how it fits and looks. Thanks

You use even pressure on all 3 fingers ? Off topic but any opinion on how to orient a 2 blade broad head in relation to fletching, as in shooting 3 blade fixed broad heads outta compound I liked my blades aligned with my fletch..if tuned perfect it don't matter really I get, but if ya got any knowledge about forgiveness in relation to 2 blade broad head indexing I'd love to borrow, thx

Mostly have shot split finger with a glove over the years. The last couple of years I’ve been shooting a tab three under. Here’s why. I found that when I dropped down in poundage I wasn’t getting a clean release. That made me consider trying a tab for a while. So far I’m happy with the Black Widow tab. The way the string slides off my fingers is much smoother. I’m 71 so maybe it’s an age thing. However, I have found that if I’m staring at a deer when wearing a glove, I can position my fingers on the string without looking. With a tab I have to glance down. Therefore, I think in a hunting situation a glove does have it’s advantages.
