Tab is so fucking awesome and original while staying authentic. When I think of good foot stomping raw blues I think of Burnside and Benoit. This is my kind of concert. I was born in 1991 but have been attending rock/blues/jazz/country shows since my first at 4 years old ( it was robben ford btw) but I love attending the older artists shows cause it is mostly just baby boomers. You cant get this kind of experience at pop concert. I just love the older couple dancing behind benoit. You could tell the gentleman had been waiting for night train as the guy to his left grabbed him by the arm during the opening riff and he was mouthing and singing along. I also loved how his wife (I would assume) was holding his hands and dancing with him. That's what it is all about and my generation is so lost to things like that. That's another reason why I love attending these kind of shows, I love feeling the music and the atmosphere and having some drinks and dancing with the older gals because a lot of baby boomer women are spending their later years alone and one night of music and fun vibes is good for everybody's soul.

That's John Chan sitting behind Tab (with the camera). He's the owner of Chan's Egg Rolls and Jazz in Woonsocket, RI - a live music institution (incredible local and national blues and jazz for the past 30 years). John and Tab have been close friends for a long time. I saw Tab once at the Rhythm & Roots Festival in Charlestown, RI (amazing music fest every Labor Day Weekend) and Tab played a set in the Workshop Tent. He played a solo set while a huge pot of Tab's home-made gumbo was set up and cooking right in front of the stage. At the end of the set, everyone got to taste the soup - of course, it was outstanding. Tab Benoit is multi talented and a super nice guy to boot. Please come back to the Ocean State my friend
