Taake Interview

Taake - Contraband Candy got the chance to talk with head man Hoest as the band came to London in which THAT gig in Essen, tour bus etiquette, hard to get movies and some surprising choices of music, all come up in conversation. Along with loads more of course, plus some EXCLUSIVE footage of Taake live at Camden Underworld, this is UNMISSABLE stuff, so watch it!

I've talked to Hoest in the chat box on Darksoul7 Radio years ago when he was putting his demos up and working on a new album at the time. He is full on into his music and getting into the zone walking into the dark woods where he lives. He is also a humorous guy. He works very hard writing new songs whenever he has a chance. He is a cool guy and his music is killer.

His understanding & explanations are well thought out & he doesn't try to shake off or show regret for past actions, but rather apologise using justification! What a Gent... As for Noregs Vaapen; the album of 2011!!!

Yes, this is quite much Hoest as I remember him from school 18 years ago. I don't think any of these bands or musicians are any shocking, but actually this was the closest to it. Then again I agree with him about the don't fear anything attitude. Even if I live in today's society and don't think either good or bad about it I agree with him. I don't like society no matter what way it is run. Sucks anyway how. He didn't have that "Zlatan voice" 20 years ago.

Venom and Bathory while they indeed played a part in the conception of norwegian black metal are not what i think the idea of "true norwegian black metal" is based upon. That is what Hoest speaks of in this interview. Its just understood. And i dont give a shit where it came from or who started what. And Hoest is not close-minded but in fact has experienced and made judgments based on his life in this terrible world.

@ sathanas222 Better than a lot in the US.? That sounds crazy. However. We start early learning English here. Everything English in TV or in the cinemas are with subtitiles. Never dubbed. Besides if you don't speak good English you might be viewed upon as maybe not so smart. It is quite much the same in Sweden and Denmark as well, but they have different accents which are easy to hear. Something to learn for the Spaniards and the Italians?
