"Advocat" is an alcohol made from egg yolks. It has a very peculiar taste i'm not a fan of it either. Pawelek's are not for everyone. Was fun to see your genuine reaction XD

@@kensolojapa Why exactly, hard to say. It's just a thing everybody tries at one point while watching television or something. People, and especially little kids, will play and experiment with their snacks when bored. It's almost universal - most of the people claim that they've tried at least once to eat Delicje or Ptasie Mleczko this way, which I guess gave rise to this rite of passage meme claiming "the one and only correct way to eat Delicje/Ptasie Mleczko". However, that's just my take on this phenomenon.

Eating Ptasie Mleczko with chocolate first is something we do as kids for fun I guess and it kinda sticks. It's satisfying and you get to savor the taste lol. As a kid I'd also eat waffles piece by piece with each layer.

Those "recommended ways" of eating Ptasie Mleczko is purely for fun. Most people in Poland used to eat it as kids in groups, since those big boxes are tough to finish on your own. Kids being kids mess with everything, including obviously with food. So for us this way of eating is mainly for its nostalgic value than for taste.

Drożdżówka z budyniem/owocami (Special type of pastry with butter crumbles and pudding/fruit), 3. Sernik (Polish cheesecake), 4. Jabłecznik (Polish Apple Pie), 5. Kremówka/Napoleonka (Special type of cake with cream), 6. Rogal marciński (Polish type of croissant), 7. Ekler (Eclair with cream), 8. Jagodzianka (Type of pastry with blueberries inside), 9. Makowiec (Poppyseed cake), 10.Babka marmurkowa (A type of pastry with cocoa and vanilla inside)

And you're right - ptasie mleczko is not mashmellow, it's just different texture, more like fluffy pana cotta? That's why it's called "bird's milk" (direct translation of "ptasie mleczko"), cause so fluffy and airy, flying milk :))

To be fair, what Americans call marshmallow is also not real marshmallow:) Everything which is kind of fluffy and spongy in texture now is called 'marshmallow' now, so I think it is proper translation. Fun fact: 'marshmallow' means literally 'prawoślaz lekarski' in Polish, kind of herb of which through centuries sticky-sweet paste was made so it could be used for base for different sweets. Also in Poland. Do you know 'pańska skórka' candies? They were also made with prawoślaz--marshmallow. Recipe for it is almost the same as for original American marshmallows, but proportions were different so it was much thicker and weightier. That's why tastes of pańska skórka and marshmallows are very similar. :)

I still love "AHA" with sesame seeds. :) Also "WW" is incredible testy for my - I love crunchy waffers. "Pawełek" was my one of the best snacks in my childhood as well too. The new one from Wedel for me is waffels without chocolate, this big yellow pack. I musi try it! Thanks for video. ;)

Wedel belongs to the Lotte Corporation - technically, they are Korean-Japanese sweets. I recommend putting WW in the fridge and eating it chilled, one wafer at a time.

It is very much Polish. The only difference between now and the past is that most of the money goes to foreigners, but the production, research, recipes and such are all tied to Poland. Basically, it's a non-Polish owned Polish company.

Excuse me, but.... Wedel is no more a Polish company. It was bought by German investors and now it doesnt bealong anymore to Polish culture. All the decisions concerning design, production of sweets are made outside our country and the recipes has changed significantly. It is no more traditional Wedel as it used to be. They also got very politically involved and it is somehow distasteful concerning the fact that owners are foreigners and should not comment on Polish politics. They only profit from the fact the sweets under famous name of Wedel are still sold in Poland. Polish Sweets are; Solidarność, Wawel, Goplana, Cukry Nyskie and more. BUT NO WEDEL!!!!!

Actually, Wedel was bought by Lotte Group in 2010 which is a Korean company. The company is named after Lotte, a character from the novel 'The Sorrows of Young Werther' by German poet and novelist J.W.Goethe. It wasn't bought by German investors, tho.
