Hard to believe Jake is 4 years older than Phil. Jake seems alot more agile and in shape. Phil still got unbelievable talent of course

Both here and Rome some of Jake’s bump sets off of Taylor’s digs are going over the net

The line judge and 1st referee are both watching his feet and didn't call anything.

Watch the Rome Bronze match if you want to see where “our best “ are vs the world. Have a stiff drink first though

what do you mean vs the world? xD They were up against the Nr. 1 team in the world. I wont argue that Crabb/Gibb prolly are not gonna win 5* tourneys like that, but they still are in a very decent spot even vs the world. (Besides Crabb is one of the top3 defenders right now imo)

Love USA Beach . But the men’s side is at a low point. What did we have Nick and Phil lose the 4 Star Final in Doha last winter as our top 2019 result. Last year wasn’t much better. Kind of a rant but IF we don’t start adding D1 Men’s Beach programs and full rides we won’t attract the type of athletes we need to win consistently at the 4/5 level. Taylor is awesome BUT why do all our top future prospects have to be brothers from a canoe club on a pacific volcano. Dude we have a million talented young men not playing Sand and till that changes we are kidding ourselves? I mean look what NCAA women’s Beach is doing for the future of USA women’s beach...I guess Phil and Taylor might pop one out at Tokyo . I mean Phil needs something new he looks like he is at a funeral every time he hits the sand

@@vbsand5882 Haha I get you yeah. But I am not sure if the full shift to beach programms is even needed, Taylor was mainly indoor in his early carrer and even looking at Mol/Sorum you basically have two top-level outsides that also did some beach. I think the basics of volleyball are best learned on hardwood floor, but I do agree that beach should get some more attention, but maybe some system which makes local lower level beach tourney possible where exactly the guys from indoor D1 teams can get some feel for the sand as well and keep an open mind for both versions of this awesome sport. Anyways I feel like there will be a great USA beach team in the next few years, maybe even with Taylor! Especially young block talent can seemingly come from unknown to star level withing one good season. P.S.: As mainly indoor player I might be a bit biased ;)

Occurs my original post was really only about the presently large gap between USA Men’s and the medal stand in Tokyo .... but I never mentioned that ha ha. That’s what decades of sand ball will do to ya.
