Nice episode again! I have the Fluke 64 Max IR thermometer which is similar to the 62 but has a 20:1 spot ratio, this means it can measure a spot from double the distance, a slightly higher temperature range, a built in flash light and it can log up to 99 temperatures and is slightly more accurate according to the specs (1 degree C or 1%, whichever comes first). Outside they look exactly the same though. What I do find somewhat frustrating about this device is that the battery runs flat even when you don't use it. So it might have the advantage of having to use only one AA, it kind of destroys this by standby consumption.

It would be interesting to see how the temperature input on your DMM's (BM869s etc.) compare against the Fluke 51. Also, using your LB02A with the correct temperature compensating cable (and the Cold junction configured) you can easily verify the range. Temperature measurement in general though......another rabbit hole to peer into. Lol

Temperature (in)accuracy is one of the reasons why I purchased the BM867s instead of the BM869s. I have dedicated temperature meters & sensors that perform that single task far better than a DMM with that as an option. This isn't a complaint against Brymen (or any other temperature enabled DMM) its just that when I looked into the specifications, and factored the extra cost, it didn't make sense for +/-2°C. Good video though!

Since they have amalgamated and use facebook as a distribution channel I have totally switched to competing products. I am more happy with red colored instruments that are far more user friendly.

@@TonyAlbus Since my first Fluke in 1980 was the most expensive with the shortest life I have acquired so many meters that I have totally lost count. Sanwa is still the most quality, but latest in my collection is a series of Kaiweets, they have an incredible value for money!

Hallo Yousaf, i can only do a wild guess, not having the device here, maybe change some capacitors, that what people usualy do, those get bad after years and years. you can find the schematics online i think.
