    Great review. Also with the lower, it relocates the "awkward to get at" safety, towards the front by the remote trigger in a more convenient and ergonomic location, not unlike the AR-15. Job well done!

    I have the LHG and I can't tell ya how much I love it. Hical has an awesome mag release that let you release and reload 2X as fast. It will be a truly perfect rifle if someone can come up with a way to do a bolt catch/release. As for fitting they have set screw that will allow you to custom fit it.

    You can find the T-97 base model with the carry handle (not the flat top) on sale for around $700 - $750. Add another $730 for the Upper and Lower and you are still under $1,500. Still seems like an affordable Bullpup.

    I was having a problem with multiple rounds per trigger pull. Nothing seemed to fix it. I put this lower on and it was instantly gone. Since then its been just a treasure to shoot, and I actually think it it feels better in hand.

    I got a Gen 1 T97 all stock and it works great, fun bush gun. I am either going to buy another gen 1 t97 (hopefully works as good as mine, I have read a lot of issues online) and get the FTU/LHG, or should I get a gen 2 T97 and LHG? Trying to find out if there is any benefits of the FTU over the new Gen 2 T97 upper.

    The Gen2s have some other upgrades, like an enlarged safety knob and mag release button, ambi mag release (it's like a norgon ambi-catch) and M4-style feed ramps. It's also more nicely machined than my late-production Gen 1.

    The trigger of the stock T97 is horrid. Id consider the LHG if it makes the trigger significantly better. I know on the site it says 50% less trigger distance and nice 4lbs pull. Would you say the trigger is enjoyable now? or is it pretty good (for a bullpup)

    Still, you can't hung a Grip or a Tac light under the handguard. It should be better if you add a rail underneath the handguard and be able to hanging all stuff like an AR did. Just sharing my opinion and I'm really excited to seeing one railed LHG Mod for the T97.

    I'm all for upgrading your own stuff it's a sweet hobby and to each their own but for the price you may as well drop the extra cash and get a Tavor and get a really ergonomic and reliable rifle right off the bat

    That's exactly what I was thinking. Plus, if you're a lefty it can be switched. I guess the only advantage to this is that you can do it incrementally. Buy the rifle, then the upper, then the lower. Like getting a Tavor on a payment plan lol

    With the amount of parts being replaced/made in Canada, I'm seriously beginning to question why we don't just build the receivers here as well, or import them alone, sans other parts. . As it stands, after these upgrades, you're effectively tossing half the gun anyway.

    I believe there has been no change in the lower gen 1 all the way to gen 3 so yes it should fit. Unfortunately t97.ca is no longer making them until the waters clear with this ban due to the risk of losing money if the t97 is suddenly decided to be too scary.

    It is my understanding that you can not own any firearm for the purpose of self defense in Canada. However depending on the situation you can use "appropriate" levels of force including weapons/firearms to defend yourself.

  • @raoufhakam5936

    @raoufhakam5936

    you can't/shouldn't/not supposed to use any firearm for home defence in Canada. the only "legal" purpose of owning a firearm in Canada is hunting (non-restricted only), target shooting at a range (restricted or non-restricted). you can and will face legal consequences for using a firearm for home defence in Canada and there are few documented cases of that.

    The Type97 gen2 is just over $900. With this $700 upgrade it's still only $1600. X95s are $2600+ in Canada, and that's before any after-market parts, which is tempting on an X95 since there's some good ones. The Tavor series of rifles is obviously better, but Norinco is waaaay less expensive.

  • @blackcatpack

    @blackcatpack

    you still need to pay $300 extra for a trigger pack for tavor to make it even more expensive than a total of a QBZ97 plus these 2 parts.

    I think the idea here is to fill a certain role - one ideally filled by an AR-15 - without it being restricted, but still be cheaper than a TAR-21 or X95.

  • @blackcatpack

    the only part that has a function but needs to place is the original lower handguard cause the trigger is inside of it and this trigger is 10% of the entire firing mechanism. the original upper handguard is just like AK's dust cover you can fire it anyway with or without it.

That being said I guess if you had to suffer the T97 it would be better with a little whip cream on it. I personally do not like the feel or function of this thing. Nice vid thanks.
