that's not how it works though. t95/t28 got it's number replaced post ww2 because there is a t-28 soviet tank and so to not have further confusion t28 became t95 in documents and history. numbers and names are usually replaced due to convenience. a good example of this type or name changing is this. www.theverge.com/2020/8/6/21355674/human-genes-rename-microsoft-excel-misreading-dates or if you're a comic nerd captain marvel became shazam cause marvel owned the copyright for the name captain marvel. going back to topic those were the t95 removable side skirt , but not just any side skirt , the t95 has extra 2 pairs of tracks built in with it's side skirts for great reason to absorb ground pressure and they usually remove them when being transported cause the t95 is too wide with it's skirts attached. and the whole side skirt being removed here are pure fan-service for people who knows what they are for. (pun intended) if you can see they are battling in hard concrete terrain so removing the side skirts that is main purpose is to minimize ground pressure isn't much needed in a hard surface unlike moving in a field of mud and other soft terrain.

@@maosama3695 well not really the case because the T28 was classed as super heavy tank but it not having a turret or coaxial machine gun which by us standards makes a tank it change to T95 to be put in the self propelled gun classification along with TD and some other vehicles

i feel like they missed a serious golden oppertunity to have the maus face off against this thing. A dual of titans. It would have been so badass

What makes it even funnier to me is that's her *second* time doing that....it's almost as if she expected the giant T-28 to have somehow gotten *out* of the little alley between the time when she first charged in after it blew down the gate, the second time you posted here. ......I think Rosehip should have gone to Chi-Ha-Tan Academy, though at least she seems to know how to retreat, unlike the Chi-Ha-Tans ^^'

I'm surprised after the Churchill shot the bridge clean open the bridge didn't collapse fully right then leaving the T-95/28 to then fall on top of the Churchill most likely destroying it under the heavy weight of the T-95/28 potentially putting it out of the fight until some M26 came to help it off it get unstuck as either it high centered on top of the Churchill or because the tank can't rotate to drive out of the situation as it's Austin powers between both supports.

Simple, the crew compartment has been lined with a futuristic extremely hight tech alloy that prevented the explosion from going in there. In the films you never see any crew hatches blow open from the explosion, only engine blocks, etc.

@@aquila4460 well i believe that they showed a type 10 in an episode that i watched just for the anime logic of low altitude tank dropping when i was searching for c-130 dropping sheridans at low altitude so this film most likely take place in a random universe where japan rebuild old tanks and just decide to wreck them afterwards

To this day, I admire Darjeelings plan to take the T28 down at 1:00 for being really creative. But it was also completely unnecessary, because the flat side-armor that gets exposed when the outside pair of tracks gets dropped is only 50mm thick. Which their Firefly can realy easily penetrate.

It is the T95 with some mods. Explosive bolts to remove the outer treads is a unique feature. Probably added later.

As for Chihatan unless they legally modified their tanks to strap some explosives on their tanks and run into the opponent they can't do shit as you said.

Hanz Get ze Flammenwerfer I believe the Original name in 1944 was just "T95" and then in 1945 "105mm Gun Motor Carriage T95". It was last named 1946 as the "Super Heavy Tank T28"

In all honesty the only thing it would've been a beast to is the logistics line. Like, the thing ain't gonna reach the front without using a train station that isn't destroyed within a mile of the front at the Rhine fortifications. And it was rendered obsolete when those fortifications were still breached without it.
