Good to see the T55. I used to serve on them back in Romania in the eighties. Man I would like to play with the turret, it is so cool to keep it in one spot and the the rest of the tank can move in any direction. I guess that is called the weapon stabilizer, if I'm not mistaken. I still remember how to turn that on. The middle switch has to be turned on, on the weapon controller, the motor starts spinning to 30000RPM, there is a small lever forward to the right of the controller that has to be flipped and then the third step is the right switch on the weapon controller. After that, you feel a kick and the stabilizer is on.

Wow the T-55 and the T-62 are almost identical at first glance, thought they have some differences in terms of the gun turret and of course the type of caliber of guns that are both mounted on those two, old but still impressive battle tanks.

Beautiful look into these beasts guys, thank you for the video and the valuable info. Question: That spider-type road wheel on the T-62 came with the tank since when it was in Syrian service or was it put by someone after it was captured/retired? The interchangeability of roadwheels between soviet tank designs was common, there is even a recent picture of a burnt down T-72B with butterfly-shaped roadwheels like those on both your T-62 and T-55AM. P.S.: "COUNT IT AGAIN", I'd say it's probably the most common quote I heard in my army service ;)

Guys, are you planning to add T-64 or T-72 to your collection? Fun fact: Soviets were exporting T-72 with weaker frontal hull armor and less capable ammo type. So the russian T-72 would be hard to penetrate with export ammo to upper glacis but at the same time export T-72 version would be penetrable

So right now I think it's unlikely, once Russia takes over Harkov region (Harkov is where the T-64 factory was and main repair facility's are) it will probably become even more unlikely because Russian Federation is very strict when it comes to any kind of private weapon sales.

@@MilitaryArmamentsCompany Well, your intro seems not to be this random hotchpotch of music and random images but a juxtaposition of specific tasks shown in past and present tense. Plus they´re mixed in a witty way that sometimes I don´t even know which epoch I am looking at (the engineers looking at a schematic and then you showing the modern schematic as if that´s what they were looking at). The rest is a good tempo in the cuts with a nice climax with the shooting tank. The only thing I would change would be the quality of the images since they´re rather low res.

About 60 (or 66%) same parts. It was impossible to fit MT-12 Rapira in tank so develop 115 mm gun. Also slightly better elevation is also indirect fire was a also design request for T-54/5. T-62 and later models didn't consider that as much important. In basic, T-62 is elongated T-55 hull with slightly changed turret from Object 140 and smoothbore gun.
