Ravens design was inspired. lot of creativity went behind it, same to a lot of Tekken characters, Since Tekken 6, newcomers had no unique look and felt dry, Tag 2 is where I finally liked Lars, but a little bit tho.

It's because they aren't tekken 1 mains. They feel they can swap them out. It's kind funny tho because Brian replaced Bruce in t3. But has become his own thing overtime, so they have just replaced Bruce again. Obviously Hwoarang was a bigger hit than Baek so they just killed Baek off.

It's explained in Bruce's Tekken 2 profile. He utterly destroyed a former Muay Thai champion that he couldn't resume competing anymore. This angered an underground gambling ring so much that they placed a bounty on him. While on a plane, an assassin tries to kill him, but is thwarted by a Hong Kong investigator (a partner of Lei Wulong). A fight ensues and the plane crashes (at sea, I think). Mishima personnel search around the crash site for months, looking for money laundering documents a mafia man was supposed to deliver to them. That's when they find Bruce who has been surviving on "human remains". It seems Kazuya admires Bruce's strong will to live, which is why he offered him to work in his militia.

Red Black do you know anymore Lei lore? I’ve been playing these games since T1 and had no idea about *any* of this stuff. I thought Bruce was just the guy who shin kicks cars to protect kittens from traffic accidents and stuff... Edit: I was almost a Mishima main but kind of got bored with tekken overall. I got back into it when Lei was released and it’s got my addiction to tekken back in full swing. So if you know any Lei lore I would really appreciate you sharing the knolly.

I would love to see Bruce comback for Season3 I hope he gets a 'wandering mercenary" redesign. Maybe hes gotten PTSD due all the time hes spent fighting Kazuya's war. So he went AWOL and started selling his services to anyone who'd pay him....idk something like that. Either way it would be awesome to see him comeback.

I love how MainMan imitates the characters and just acts like a kid at times. Earlier I was laughing my ass off with MainMan going all like "Umph! Umph!" and stuff and I was drinking earlier and he's just so hilarious that I could almost puke or burst my drinkn off lmao, he's like a little kid getting really high and stuff I just love his sense of humor, best comedian.

I want bruce back, no offense on Josie but she is a bad replacement personality wise. Plus Bruce inspired me in many ways because he was so bad ass.

Correct, it is true. Bruce is strictly muay thai. Josie is a mixture of kickboxing and her own dancing flair thrown in with a lot of uncertainty. She sucks ass.

@@jensvide777 Well, without going too deep into it, Bruce had a very defined muay thai style whereas Josie has an very unsure sort of kickboxing/dancing/Arnis style. Bruce is very direct, fast and powerful as his fighting style demands whereas Josie seems to have moves that add to her uncertainty about how to fight which plays along with her personality perfectly, but makes her very limited as a fighter. Josie entire offence is stacked behind her switch stance, she has a few other things she can do, but to get the most out of her you have to make good use of that stance. The problem with that stance is it's easily interrupted and very unsafe, most pros don't even use her switch stance, but again, that severely limits her. Bruce on the other hand has a stance, but can do just fine without it, his stance is a bonus not a crutch like in Josie's case.

If they have given Josie a strong personality instead of being whiny crybaby, I would've preferred her over Bruce. Bruce is a badass compared to Josie. Either they put Bruce back on the next Tekken or they overhaul Josie's persona.

I recall a conversation about wanting players to "play more women" in their roster. They could see the stats. Would say they went about it the wrong way. Replacing 2 characters. Maven is the most well-rounded the Raven fighting style's ever been, but it's a shame it took a model swap and innovation to make Raven feel _good._ The Josie/Bruce situation still stings to this day. So many moves ripped. Completely uncalled for.

@@nixuniverse5240 I feel that. There's some weight to Kazumi's attacks that really spoke to me pre-release. Josie's character could be handled better; I'd rather they incorporate Talim-esque tools into her gameplay, and stray away from ripping apart Bruce's movelist. It already happened to him once. Then they reworked him in T6. Polished him in TTT2. Then cut him loose again in T7. The big sad.

@@ninjaboylamel I believe Josie is not a memorable character. She is the type that a very few people would ask for in a future iteration of the game. Plus his personality is arguable because as you said, he's that "strong knee black guy" but at the same time he had a really good heart as was shown in his ending saving the bird. The contrast helps his personality a little. Bruce fits the Tekken realm, Josie feels like she got lost and ended up here.

Decided to play Josie and I liked her and she my current main rn, did some research and found the huge amount of people mad that she a Bruce clone and she replaced Bruce. I can at least understand why they are mad, Seeing Bruce in this video makes me want him in either as dlc in tekken 7 or in tekken 8. So even if Josie don't get in to tekken 8 I'll just play bruce

season 3 option or has Josie to much Bruce moves? I've never played prior Tekken games seriously so I wouldn't know. But a lot of people say that Bruce is totally different from Josie, looking at this gameplay I see a couple of familiar moves but I would love to see him in season 3!

This is the type of decision making that makes me question the mental stability of some of those game developers. Why replace a legend like Bruce with a typical Disney Chanel sitcom character? Just copy paste Bruce from Tag 2 and balance him. Watching Chop Bruce used to be the best thing ever, but now I have to watch this abomination.

i dont know why everyones comparing josie and bruce, they dont fight the same and like swe said bruce has a history with other characters, and has a much different personality, josie lacks that since shes new, the only comparison anyone could have is their fighting style, she shouldnt have replaced bruce, but they should have had bruce in t7 along with josie, maybe he teaches her to have more courage. it would give him a new spot among the characters.

They are basically like clone characters. If you played Bruce and Josie you would see similarities in their moves and shit. Josie even has some of Bruce's move lol Her df4 and switch stance functions identical to Bruce's df4 and pasart stance. Although Josie's stance, options and the character's moves in general is way better than Bruce.

@@tippingguy8514 key word similarities, everyone can see the similarities in their moves cause they both use a form of kickboxing, you dont need to play em to even see it and its a given considering she uses kickboxing and empty handed kali, as well as being the fill in for bruce its expected for her to have alot of his moves. but besides them being better some have more recovery, different animations, some hnd, has different strings, and in some of the moves she has retained from bruce, dont function the same like some causing spinouts where bruces wouldnt or how she has bruces b121 but it doesnt cause spiral knockdown. her stances are better and shes a better counter character for sure. they should have given her a weapon and made her a mix. there are clear similarities but also clear differences.
