頭部のワイヤーを描く練習 : Drawing practice Head

頭部のワイヤーを描く練習をしているところです。
このワイヤーは、商業作品を描くにあたって、気分の浮き沈みに関係なくコンスタントにある一定の絵を上げていくためのものです。
(絵が上手くなりたいと思ってこの動画シリーズをご覧になっている初心者の方へ)
この動画の練習は正確に表記すると「私の絵のワイヤーの練習を私がしているところ」です。
初めて絵を描く方の練習方法ではありません。
みなさんの多少の参考になるかと思い、この動画シリーズを制作してみました。
絵には個人の好き嫌いがあるので、好きな絵を描かれる作家さんの絵を模写するところから始めましょう。
私も子供の頃そうしていました。
そうしてだんだん「自分の絵」を構築し、オリジナルのものにしていきます。
そうなると今度は「自分の絵」しか描かなくなり、形が崩れてきても自分で気づけなくなってきます。
それを防ぎ、絵を安定させるためにこのワイヤーを使用しています。
①模写をして描きまくる
②自分の絵を構築する
③それを維持、または改良、発展させる
商業作家の場合、コンスタントにある一定の水準の作業を続けなくてはなりません。
そんな日常の中「気分」に左右されないように、こういったワイヤーを頭の中に置いて仕事をしています。
分かりやすい形状として捉えられる方もいっらしゃると思いますので、そういった方の参考になれば幸いです。
いつも左右に縦線を引いていますが、あれは立方体の一部だという事を説明しています。
この立方体の補助線により、さらに立体を把握しながら描く事ができます。

    It's all practice. The more you do it, the better you'll become. Choose whatever works for you best, short, jagged strokes using the wrists, or long, smooth strokes with your elbows. You can alternate them depending on your ease of use and preference.

    The messiness does that. The human brain decodes what the eyes see in such way. If you want clean lineart to show emotions/life, you need to exacerbate the expression. But if you are messy, the imperfections are decoded as such. The more you try to make it look good, the less it will feel genuine. The foundations and proportions are made so the brain recognizes a human head, then life is something that happens on its own. And this stands true no matter the art. You'll only have emotions through your guitar or piano playing once you master the basics and just let the music happen through your fingers. It takes practice and trial and error so hard you reach a point when you don't try anymore and just do it.

    You can do the same thing he did with the boxes on different body parts. See what the form looks like, use the box to show where all the parallel parts seem to converge& to do the depth measuring, and then connect everything together. Obviously it's not as easy as it sounds, but the same point comes across - you can fit any 3D object inside a box to and from there build where everything's suppose to be. Drawing the figure is a toughie since you also need to keep in mind the arcs each part creates when its in a different direction and know how anatomical parts look when in different postions, so I'd recommend Loomis's successful drawing and figure drawing stuff to learn more. I've yet to find a teacher that tells you how to make practical use of perspective like he does, except marshall vandruff. You can find serviceable PDFs of the books online. As annoying as learning perspective is, Im glad I'm delving more into it now. It's a pain to learn, but very valuable and practical. Good luck!

    Because Yoshitomi remains silent, this video is immediately tons more effective than any tutorial I've seen. The way he builds up to the head is so simple yet effective, and has immediately shown results on my end. The silence forces you to teach yourself and better understand what you're learning.

    It's amazing how every artist has their own way of drawing the same thing. I personally don't use as much guidelines for the head, and while it helps me get the job done quicker, I think it makes me pretty inconsistent. I certainly need to take some tips from Akihito-sensei so that I can improve my own art. Thank you for posting this video!

    If you’re like me you have trouble with the blue squares that establishes a 3D angle, for me it’s sometimes a bit off. I recommend practicing squares and parallel lines to help understand the perspective. It will help greatly with the more dynamic head drawings!

    This tutorial was so usefull. I recomend first apply this steps in a photography if you are not comfortable with proportions and perspective. I had so many problems with face features but this triangle form helped me a lot because the eyes can´t be outside the edges. Thank you for the video.

    I am a huge fan of those Staedtler fineliners...I have a few sets, but my oldest set is over 5 years old, probably closer to 7-8 years old, and they still work! I found them in my old art supplies about a year ago and I can't tell which pack are my new ones and which are the old ones. Also...your videos got me back into using coloured pencil for my sketches...something I learned years ago and just stopped doing, for whatever reason.

    I used to draw heads this way untill a terrible art teacher told me it was straight up wrong, that "adding a cube on the outside of the head made no sense and was a waste of time" and that i should never ever do it. after some years i decided to ignore her advice and started using boxes again since it was way easier everytime i had to draw something in any perspective that wasn't front or side. And boy, am I glad I did it. That teacher sent me back years instead of helping me improve. It's good to take advice from others but sometimes you just need to do what works for you.

    This is exactly the video I needed to see!!!!😆 How to draw a head with exact geometric shapes. No distracting words explaining how to do what, just sweet ASMR pencil scratches on paper.✏🗒 I really appreciate the show don't tell method of this video. I've learned all these techniques from other youtubers, but this video really solidifies them all into one really cool watching experience.     Because this is NOT "how to draw". It's a recall exercise. He have studied, deconstructed, understood, memorized and now he's making an structural recall, so he can make better placements. A recall, is basically when you put what you have sintesized in your brain, so you can make even better structures. What he has shown, is an exercise on space, and where to put the elements. The proportions of the face, are working in another place of his brain and muscle memory. You need to study, not just practice. C:

    I've been there my friend. It literally took a whole year to be very good at drawing faces plus the body but still I have a lot to learn yet when it comes to drawing anime. Just a tip just dont stop drawing, I think🙄.

    This is the best drawing instruction video I've ever seen. I knew about the heads in a block shape, but the additional helping lines here really make it so much easier.

    Ive seen many tutorials about drawing heads and its proportions, usually are really hard to understans because the proportion rules are so intricate. I tried this and the results are very interesting.
