Marc Bolan is the Man!! I caught T.Rex in FLA. in 1972 during Spring Break. To see them live,is why so many artists (The Who) refer to them in the lyrics in their songs!Created a sound that did not happened since!

T.Rex performance is BBC Top of the Pops (which BBC has since wiped/erased) but this was shown on German TV show, as you can see, and we thankfully have the footage because of them. Classic, fun, great T.Rex song. :)

Best by far. Was 12 when this hit charts. Coincided with our first comprehensive school disco. We all loved it. I was in green trousers with red and white checked Ben Sherman. Those were the days..

It's a pity that their next release was Metal Guru, which probably wouldn't have got into the top 20 had it not been by T Rex. Bolan didn't put out another really good release until Twentieth Century Boy, but by then he was no longer flavour of the month.

the guitar and drum parts might not be technical as in "they play lots of notes dead fast" but they're far better than anything satriani or vai or any of them have come up with, cos the melodies and general style of the song was new and brilliant and the songs are still being listened to and talked about 30 years later.

this song has a real Stones groove to it, its awesome, rock n roll!

Me too. Each time i am in London i drive first to Queen´s Ride, where was the accident and than to Golder´s Green to visit his grave. Only the best die young.

One of my fav t-rex songs, still amazed every time by the excellent quality of this vid taken in the early mid 70s ..wow , very high def considering its age.

These are my words you are writing Laurie. How could they dance and not looking at him. A little time later he had been gone and we will see him again in our lords space one day. Always brings me water into my eyes when he is acting. I have seen this show called disco in 1972 an from this moment on I was lost in Marc!

Remember this so vividly. Went out to buy the single, it had sold out of the local record shop! Waiting a whole week to buy it was agony! Marc Bolan: a true British original.

Das waren noch Zeiten T Rex Slade und Sweet und wie sie alle hießen dazu noch Discothek im WDR meine Jugend war schon eine tolle zeit 1977 da war ich 17 ist Marc Bolan der Sänger von T Rex leider bei einem Autounfall ums Leben gekommen Elvis starb im selben Jahr Stephan H 63 Jahre aus Bottrop NRW

Der erwähnte schwere Autounfall kam dann später. Ich wollte es nicht glauben, es war das letzte, was ich hören wollte. Keep a little Marc in your heart.

this is the first time I heard from T. Rex and that was a pretty cool song!

Marc was clever by making his music short sweet and simple, the sound that his produce made for him , was the key to his success , unfortunately his ego and fear of changing his formula halted his career, I was so happy at the time that he took more chances with his last album , he would of gone on to be a big star again , if he had not died . Yet Marc told us he would die in a small car accident, I guess he got what he wanted . I am pleased to see his music is still out there rocking the world as it should .

It's funny - when I heard the Bauhaus version, I thought for sure it was a David Bowie cover. Never heard that T Rex did it. Awesome.

I saw Marc with Steve as Tyrannosaurus Rex and again as T.Rex with Mickey, just as he "went electric", they were both great gigs, but unfortunately also saw T.Rex at Fairfield Halls Croydon at the start of "T.Rexstasy" complete with screaming girls - didn't enjoy that one so much! Lol! I've always loved Bolan (doncha just love the "Oh Baby!!" at the start of this?) but often wondered how things got so bad that the guitar solo in "Teenage Dream" got through Marcs "quality control" !

Went to see john lydon last night, they played this song john loves it, and i think its amazing.he also played blockbuster sweet as well another great song, it was a question and answers session.
