I absolutely love Marc Bolan, and his music, but, according to Tony Visconti, though Marc had an original style on guitar, Tony says that Marc was not a technical guitarist at all. According to Tony, Marc didn't even know the name of the notes on the guitar, nor the name of the chords he was playing. He played totally by feel. So I don't know if he would've been able to instruct, unless you were with him and he just shows you what he's doing. I don't think he would've been able to explain it in words.

Gloriously Shambolic. All Marc ever wanted to do was sell out and become famous. But despite that, he was freakishly sui geneeris. His sound, look, songwriting, and conception of pop music were all delightfully odd and in that great British tradition of campy cheek and charming amateurishness. No wonder the punks worshiped him and he loved 'em right back.
