Surprisingly good sure, but faithful? A *lot* changed in major ways. A "faithful" cover would just be straight up playing the Black Sabbath version. He didn't do that, by any stretch, and he knocked it out of the park.
This has no business being this good. He clearly loves the song. It’s not a parody. He means all of this. More please.

He doesn't seem to use it the entire song. The parts he does use it, it is to electrify his voice like a guitar. His use of vocal vibrato on those parts seems to replicate an electric guitar. It's incredibly impressive. Not only does he have sick vocal chops, he knows when and how to use effects to push things over the edge.

That isn't autotune. On T-Pains twitter page he says its flanger and chorus.

@@_Clem_H_Fandango_ It’s not autotuned, there’s no pitch correction in this. I think what most people get confused is hearing him on the masked singer or Tiny Desk where he’s just performing versus a studio recording. It’s gonna sound more digital because of the mix, but if you listen to any other T-Pain song with autotune and then listen to this you’ll hear the difference between his autotuned voice and non-autotuned voice.

This is one of the truest, most genuine Black Sabbath covers ever. T captures all the emotion, meaning, and purpose of the song. It has the right amount of heaviness, proving that something doesn't have to be thrash metal to be heavy, and I enjoy the jazzy flourishes thrown in throughout. And the best part is that it fully captures the sound of the era in which the song came out, 1970. This is solid. I'm a new fan of T-Pain.

Amazing! I feel like I'm at an old southern church tent revival! Preach on T-Pain! Preach on! I can still remember how revolutionary this song was when it was released on the Paranoid album in 1970 at the height of the Vietnam War. That was 53 years ago, where do the years go? And still we have learned nothing as we repeat our same past mistakes in Ukraine today. The world needs this version of this song as much today as it needed the original in 1970! On his first album most of the choruses are his voice straight up without auto tune. And he’s singing his ass off. It’s just the ad libs and verses that have auto tune on it is what people remember the most because he was the first person to use it so aggressively that it added a texture to the performance that was groundbreaking at the time. But all the background harmonies and all that is him with no auto tune. Hell I didn’t even realize it until I saw him on a video talking about how most people don’t even realize most of his first album is singing straight up because he’s known for the aggressive auto tune sound.

Dude has a great Metal voice. Who knew? This is great! It’s unique but pays homage to the original. Mad respect to T Pain. This song is timeless. Sometimes we forget and we need to take a look back at the past so that we don’t repeat the catastrophes of senseless war. May humanity one day build a home without war, violence & destruction.

"a home without war, violence & destruction" is literally Heaven. I'd like to say: accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and you'll be able to experience that place, someday!

Wonderful cover. Just phenomenal vocals. Invented a new sub genre here! Gospel Sabbath! As a metal band, this level of performance is something to aspire to. I personally was a hip hop head in the 90s and still love it. So glad to see my favorite genres blending so well.
Fucking hell man. Never listened to t pain before. That changed this. Any mother fucker who can step out if their genre and nail it outta the park like this deserves mad respect. It makes me feel silly not checking him out earlier. From bar rescue to ozzy there's nothing this man can't do.
It's eerie how similar he sounds to Ozzy. Now we need Ozzy to cover "Buy you a drank"🤣 this sounds great 🔥
This gave all of us goosebumps.
This is by far the best cover of a Black Sabbath song since Faith No More covered it in 1989. This absolutely rips

I am still rather partial to busts rhymes iron man… while it’s not really a cover it’s a song singing the same story.
DAMN the guitarist understood the assignment
This is simply beautiful. Made me have chills. I love his take on a metal classic. I hope he does more covers. Bring T-Pain back to the light of Metal!
Wow! I did not know what to expect, but THIS is what I want from covers. It captures the energy of the original while doing something very different. Hell yeah!
A timely cover of a timeless song! One People, One Love, One Universal Consciousness! We are all in this together! ✌️👁️ 🌎🌍🌏

If you had told high school me that t-pain's cover of Black Sabbath would solidify his place in my heart, I would have spat PBR.
I didn't know this was a thing until now, and I'm in love with this. This is honestly one of the best covers of "War Pigs" I've heard, up there with Faith No More's untouchable version. T-Pain, do more rock and metal when you get the chance, see what you can do when you put your phenomenal voice and production to it.
T-Pain doing a Black Sabbath cover is fucking top notch well done sir very badass! Tony,Geezer,Burt & Ozzy would definitely approved.

I don't mean to compare to older artists, but this is DEFINITELY what Living Color would've sounded like if they were still around; All around, a great cover, and it's heightened by the fact that Ozzy crowned this as the best cover.
This is such an amazing cover. T-Pain is the man!!!
This was certainly an unexpected treat! Tozzy Painbourne!
Speaking as a metalhead - WELCOME🥰 Mr. Tpain absolutely nailed it. He sounds great! What a fantastic cover. Good job ❤
people forget how bluesy black sabbath was. metal didn't break from the blues until the late 70s with the new wave of british heavy metal.
First I stumble on the tribute band Ozz and now this. Incredible, takes me right back to 1979 when I discovered I loved Black Sabbath and later Ozzy.
😳🤘🤘🤘🔥This grandma is in love with this cover. Everything just sooo good. 💜T-Pain and band!
Of all things, I was not expecting T-Pain to cover War Pigs this year. It sounds amazing too.
Holy shit, what? T-pain is quickly becoming one of my favorite celebrities. Between the podcast, the drifting, the twitch streaming, and now metal covers? Come on! This man is enjoying life and I’m here for it
Holly Crap. Unfreakinbelievable. Good stuff
I thought it was Living Colour there for sec… Great job T Pain great to see pop artist show how music can be done respectfully 🤘🏽👍🏽
Heard this on Octane this morning. This was one hell of a great cover! I would love to hear more Metal covers by T-Pain!
DUDE!!!! This Is Why You are Sir a Real ARTIST !
In a world. Where video games are getting "remade". One man took hold and decided to show the world what remake truly means.
Man, this is such a kick ass song. You let your power fly and it's so fun to hear. What an arrangement.
"Low" was 1 of the 1st songs i learned to dance too & started my love of Tpain 😌👍 & I've always loved classic rock so for him to do this is amazing im glad im alive to hear this 😁👌
I've been a metal head for most of my life and a fan of Black Sabbath. This was very well done! Probably the best cover of this song i have ever heard. Great job 🤟😃
Now that's gospel. That's a message that needs to be heard right now. Nice cover. Who's listening to the message and not just hearing the art?
You can tell he loves this song by the way he does it so much justice. Can’t believe anyone was mad about this cover
