I have seen Tool 20+ times. I love all members. But the last 5 or so shows, Maynard sounds like he enjoys singing again. There was a time where it seemed he was going through the motions. Maybe it was the turmoil from the lawsuit and he was not totally invested at the time. Just saw them at Welcome to Rockville and he was on point. The pain, the emotion has returned. Again, just my opinion. They make my life much better with their music. ✌🤟

The first time I saw them in 2019 and that was my primary complaint. He didn't seem present. It was still an amazing show, but between the two shows in 2022 and this one that I caught, it really seems like he truly wants to be there and isn't just obligated.

I saw Tool in 2002 during their “Lateralus” tour in Las Vegas. I wasn’t into Tool at the time, but sure was after that! It was the most spiritual experience I’ve ever had. They ended with “Reflection”. With tens of thousands attending, you could hear a pin drop as everyone exited in calm silence, moved by magical spirituality. I’ve seen Tool ten times since then, and while always excellent, none came close to that concert.

Great visuals. They had a setup like this during one of the 10000 days tour rounds. Wall to wall screens. This is how it should be if Maynard is going to be in the back like he does these days. The visuals behind and under really make it pop and make it so he isn't just this hidden shadow in the back, but rather engulfed in the visuals.

@@vik8596 I guess we need to define “hit harder” haha. Salival is probably more emotional and the coup de gras may hit harder because it’s a slow build to that point, but original version is “heavier” from start to finish, maybe less likely to bore the randoms at festivals and/or to keep the energy higher on tour. But yea length is probably the main reason anywayz. 🤘👊
