On December 1, 2011, T-Mobile shot a flash mob holiday themed commercial at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois. A commercial that is still fondly remembered and has a cult following to this day, especially among us locals. I take a walk around Woodfield and ride that infamous escalator to celebrate the commercial's 10 year anniversary.

I am one of those cult followers. I lived just miles from Woodfield when this commercial was filmed. I watch this commercial several times every holiday season. T-Mobile took the original upload down, but thanks to Bill we can all now enjoy this commercial in the quality it was meant to be watched in. There are numerous user generated behind the scene videos worth watching as well. In a retro video quality only 2011 era cell phones could provide.
This commercial always gives me goosebumps. And the little blond girl at the end, reminds me of a picture I have of my similarly aged blond daughter looking towards the center lobby from the 2nd floor as well. :-)
And finally, another shout out to Bill Shelly for doing God's work, preserving and getting a quality version of this commercial back online. Something I never thought I'd see again.
