17世紀在台南府城大南門近郊外，曾有法裔美國人李仙得因工作之需途經台南，映入他眼簾的是一望無際的墓園。在他的遊記裡頭，寫著未曾在歐洲或是美洲看過如此景象，夏季黃昏時分悠悠鬼火在墓區飄盪。鄰近台南機場的墓地隨時聽得見飛機橫空掠過的噪音，此處葬著台南四百年來的歷史發展脈絡與族群遷徙記憶。台南市政府一紙公文下達，命墓區有主墳家屬於限定時間內遷葬，為的是要重新塑造一處廣袤公園、停車場、住宅建地，讓都市的紋理能夠更現代化與美觀。而無人認領的無主墳墓，則由市政府代為遷葬、起掘並另為安置。團隊進入該田野地記錄下正在被拆遷的墓群，也呈現該墓區的現況。

進入那人間的歡樂且生氣蓬勃的城市前，尤其是見到在夏天時傍晚餘溫所造成的鬼火。那種感覺實在很難以描述，近似於神秘與哀傷。這是在歐洲或美洲的同類地方，鮮少體會到的。
