I'm from Houston but we gotta give credit to New Orleans. Master P created "Trap Music" and B.G. created "Drill Music". Back then there were only 3 types of Rap Music... Gangster Rap, Conscious Rap and Hip Hop. Go back and listen to Chooper City and all Master P's early work, you'll see they laid the foundation before these types of music had names.

Naw it’s different when your whole album is about the trap. 95% of jeezy raps are about the trap and it’s more detailed. Of course they’re not the first to talk about drugs on a record. Jay-z rap about drugs 90% time he just don’t get start to the point like the south rappers do. His a more metaphorically but he definitely speaking about selling drugs all the time

Master P bout it bout it is not trap. Furthermore Master P made the blueprint for rappers and black artists getting paid but he followed trends in music. None of his music is original. He copied the trends. Ghetto Dope was released in 1997 and he had one song that detailed how to manufacture crack. Nothing on that album was about the trapping lifestyle. Trick Daddy rapped about thugging not trapping.
