So... this is just Hiroshi Motofuji's performance, in a song composed by Kenji Fujisawa, INSPIRED in Takanashi Yasuharu's score for Naruto Shipudden, but not actually related to it... am I right?

Hiroshi Motofuji is the main taiko musician behind the Naruto Shippuden soundtracks. He is a highly renown taiko master and exceptional percussionist and has lent his talents to big composers like Yasuharu Takanashi for years. In other words, the familiarity you're hearing is from the same circle that has collaborated on countless occasions, including projects like the Shippuden OSTs, as well as Yaiba and Team-MAX, of which Yasuharu Takanashi is also part of. Motofuji's a true phenomenon, and many other familiar talents like Remi Tanaka have been pooled together by Takanashi. Incidentally, I also recognize that hichiriki (wind instrument) playing style; it's likely the same performer who played it on Shippuden's OST. Hope that helps. Ciao
