Brings back many great memories....the most fun I've had in my life. I was in 68-C. Graduated Spring of 1967...Reese AFB, Lubbock, Texas - since closed. Many, many students have flown the same T-38s I flew back then.

It seems unbelievable that I flew these planes in 1969 and 70. Class 70-05, Enid A.F.B. Oklahoma. The most exciting time to fly a super sonic twin engine jet 47 years ago. Loved every minute of it.

jonathan lerner Wow, I never knew anyone who said they had fun in a T-37. My memories of the T-37 are a stinky, noisy, underpowered, nauseating ride. the T-38 was smooth, quiet-ish, generally didn't smell like vomit and JP-4, climbed and rolled like crazy but perhaps still a bit under powered.

The general consensus in my class (87-04) was that the Tweet was more fun to fly aerobatics in (you could do 2 loops in the time it took to do 1 in the T- 38), but formation was better in the T-38.

I was in class 71-04 at Vance and loved my time in the T-38. I think they looked better in white. The cockpit now has very little resemblance to the “round eyes” we had back in the day. I moved on to the F-106 and would hate to have to pick between these two wonderful birds. Fly safe.

I got to a "ride" in a T-38 simulator several years ago. My friend was an Instructor Pilot and told me a lot about the plane and what speeds and altitudes I needed to be. First try, I took off and had a good landing. After that I was never able to land it without a mishap. Sure was fun though. Also got a sim ride in a KC-135 and a B-52 when I was in the USAF.

was Lucky enough to get a ride in one of these. (My friends dad flies f 16's.) the power and the maneuverability of these aircraft is insane. I can't even image flying an f 22.

I served in the AF 1980-84. Grand Forks AFB. We had a few of these in the base. Assuming to train the soon to be B-52 pilots. Or KC 10 tanker pilots. Very Cool and Little airplanes.

Awesome job with this video - loved the throttles in AB at the beginning. I did UPT back in 1983 (yea, I'm so old now!). Solo on the wing was so cool. There have been few (if any) things in life as awesome as my UPT experience. Thanks for sharing this video.

How are you able to film while flying aren't there restriction on cameras on the flight deck? And if there are restrictions could you just mount a GoPro or something

During training there are some sorties where you "sandbag" or ride in the backseat as a student while an instructor flies. As to whether it's allowed, the commander has the authority to authorize them. Some people do mount GoPros to make flying videos.

+SMACK thanks, I'm still in high school now but trying to go to the academy to become a pilot. Do you recommend Fighters or Cargo for me? Right now I'm thinking cargo because you get a ton more flight hours.

Any music is better than silence. “Sometimes quiet is violent” - Twenty One Pilots. That blue sky looks terrible, those white fluffy things bother me. Why is that guy in the other 38 looking at me, it’s creepy. Get Over It. Beautiful aircraft, awesome day! NICE VID! Del Rio XL!
