She doesnt lack anything. Stop trying to set standards for Individuals. Save that for the mainstreamers. Ugh.

Chaz killing it as usual. This SZA is also interesting to me, and although her album is not rated very high by many critics and portrays problems, I am excited to see where she goes with her music. :) Cheers

her voice is amazing, but her lyrics lack a certain breadth/meaning...

ceeza314 it's not as if I proposed some big pseudo-philosophy ... I mean "fake deep" pretty embarrassing, what does that even mean? Lmfao, care to explain "fake deep" .

ceeza314 Hmm, not quite sure of the relevancy of knowing the producer, because he doesn't support your reasoning behind how this is "fake deep" if he produced the song, and didn't write the lyrics it falls on Sza. He may have a lot of more abstract pieces... but I don't listen to him, and he really doesn't apply. Also, just because it's her personal journal it doesn't make it anymore profound than it can be, it could just be simple musing of a human mind, doesn't make it ground breaking, it's not a matter of me "connecting" when I say it lacks a certain meaning but understanding.

ceeza314 Jee, is it a crime to listen to music for it's simplicity and sound sometimes, I enjoy different artist differently. To me, no I don't feel the need to have to learn all about her to enjoy her music. I'm not a diehard, but rather a casual listener. I don't know how all these opinionated assumptions have arisen (i.e "she's boring to you" "you are not interested in exploring her further" ). To answer, quite honestly, no. I'm not compelled to go learn about her to find meaning in her words, it's just not worth it. It's too time consuming, for me *PERSONALLY if it's not there in the song...

If you are into poetry, the words might be more interesting. I am not here to step on your opinions. Rather, I see why you say that. It's a matter of personal taste. She tends to make use of a more poetic way of expressing herself in lyrics. Something not everyone is into. But her words are not in any form philosophical, just poetic.

I am a poet and I have to disagree, The reason I love this song is the lyrics.
