I started working on light sport aircraft this year and I found this podcast very helpful and even though there is a great difference between Commercial and Light sport I found a lot of information in this podcast to be really interesting. You should definitely keep striving to be a mechanic! it's always great to know about the engine that you are flying! Great podcast! Side note: I totally forgot to mention. When I first started as a mechanic on smaller planes drawing different parts of the engine would really help with memorizing parts of the system. Great advice!

For anyone confused about 15:40 , I believe he meant to say Air Data Computer (ADC) as opposed to flight data computer (FDC?). This is the essential part of the G1000 ADC/AHRS system that processes pressure information for the airspeed indicator, altimeter, and vertical speed indicator. It is important to note that whether you fly a G1000 or not, you should be familiar with the systems. Likewise, even if you do not fly a complex aircraft, you must be familiar with those systems. All the best!

"...jump out of an airplane. Although I've done that once and it seems unnecessary to do it twice" had me cracking up - probably because it spoke to the core of one of my biggest fears.

Do you ever fly tailwheels? Such a good way to help with crosswind landings on trike landing gear and to use the rudders/ stay coordinated much as possible

I wish I could do memory traces. I have anphantasia, so visualization is impossible for me.

Is there the opposite of anphantasia? Can’t remember words.

@@michaelgarrow3239 So anphantasia means that that person generally has no internal dialog / voice as well as visualization (even in dreams). It varies in range. You have people who's visualization is completely blank (me) to maybe a shadow, to seeing some potential colors to full visualization (Hyperphantasia), even the ones that can control their dreams. I don't think not remembering words is anphantasia but could be.
