My current husband made me a mix CD with Chop Suey & Prison Song on it to play in my car on my way to work as an Ohio Correctional Officer to help boost my aggression level as needed. I am usually just a Zep head, but some days needed the bigger attitude booster that SOD supplied.

Serj is not classically trained in opera, he's just really good at singing.

Love this Band so hard. They are of Armenian descent, very political, and Serj's vocals........no words.

My reaction was the same as yours. Blown away! System of a Down is so unique. Beautiful melodies and heavy metal mixed together in the same song. Great music and voices. Dive in deeper to their music please.

The whole album is amazing. I normally don't listen to music this heavy, but when everything sounds like perfection, I love it.

This was the first album I'd ever bought with my own money. In a Hot Topic at a mall in San Diego in middle school. What a great first album.

That's how it is with this group, you have to always expect the unexpected, they will keep you on your toes the whole length of the track, i would definitely suggest next the track Chop Suey, check it out.

Yeah these guys are SOAD: SOD was Stormtroopers of Death, which included members of Anthrax and was fronted by Billy Milano. The 90s nu-metal movement was quite incredible. SOAD and Deftones were my favorite.

SOAD was ruling the musical world 20 years ago. Its hard to believe that some guys who look as old as I am (53) are just hearing this in 2023. Hell Im a white guy who knew who Cab Calloway was in the 80's.

As a Russian Armenian, I agree, I was shocked too when I first heard of System and found out they were Armenian. One of my Mexican friends was singing a System song and I was like, that sounds sick! Wtf is that? He's like System, an Armenian band, I was like, really? lol But yeah, many talented Armenians for sure, I knew and still know many. We have our good and bad, but our good over trumps our bad. Just like with most countries. 🙏🙏🙏

@@wheatthicks sounds like an awesome show! I saw them in Baltimore Maryland at a free concert they did with another band named Cold. It was a weird show because a bunch of heroine junkies showed up and were nodding out in the crowd.
