Honestly, this has to be one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. The footages these legends managed to capture is unbelievable. Someone got shot a meter away from the camera man. They recorded a suicide bomber for the week leading up to the day that he did it. These are utterly rare footages showing the worst side of our species.

I went to Syria in the mid 80's, it was aTourists dream. I have been to Aleppo. From what i can remember it was beautiful. And old. I also went to Balbek on the border. And a giant Fort. The likes you don't see in Europe. It was a Crusader Knights Fort back in the day. Blown to smitherines now. Isn't it meant to be the end when Damascus lies in ruins?

@@azurman3 Thank you for reminding me of the Forts name. I knew it had a French name but didn't want to make a pig's ear of the spelling or name for that matter. In my opinion these are bucket list destinations. Gobekle Tepe is high on my list although I would love to see the sights at Balbek again and Krak des chevaliers but I can't run very fast anymore, just in case. Not the safest of places . Cambodia, Angkor Wat is a great place to visit. If you haven't been I highly recommend it. Take your Mosquito spray though. It's awe inspiring literally.

I bet you may have already been to Petra, Luxor temple, etc. If not these are also super attractive options. As for Europe, you can find for instance in France the famous Cité de Carcassonne, that may be a good fit if you liked visiting the Krak

I was in Syria last year. A wonderful country with the most kindest and warm people. A travelled throughtout the country and I have been in Aleppo. The devastation of war is horrendous, but coming from the Balkans nothing I haven't seen before. War is terrible and the worst thing that could happen in ones life! As a British man with a venomous hatred of the Islamic State and other such groups, I appreciate this documentary, because you will never defeat an enemy that you can not understand. We are all humans, so something must trigger people to cut off the heads of innocent people. Don't get me wrong I find it utterly deplorable, but understanding the reasons why people do such things is essential if we are ever to prevent it from happening again. This documentary shows a necessary human side to the conflict and the professional journalism in creating this film is absolutely top class.

When was this filmed?

The Italian priest's part was the most interesting aspect of the documentary to me. I believe he was somewhat genuine in his approach, probably because he knows that to spread the 'word,' you need crusaders who will do it by any means necessary.

Five stars for a remarkable piece of reporting work! Excellent documentary!!!!

theyre driven by ego and the thought of being holy, couldnt be further from knowing God in reality. They "serve" for such selfish reasons too. It blows my mind that people are so lost, and that Christians have become so weak that people are blind enough to conflate the religions, but then that is Satans intention and ultimately under God's plan. The only thing we are capable of in reality is asking him to reveal self, come to light which gives perfect peace in the present and true (non-emotional) love for ALL people.
