I had the pleasure of seeing a Super hornet display last year at the New York Air Show at Newburgh Airport, it is an awesome aircraft and one that stays around for a long while.

Great video, i love going to the air show at MCAS Miramar in San Diego, I just can’t stand the music they play! The music coming from the engines of the aircraft works for me.

Beautiful aircraft. God, how I hate loud obnoxious "music" during an airshow.Can't they let the aircraft speak for themselves?

The details are awesome, stability is good, but it looses focus sometimes doesn't it? I'm planing to buy a videocamera for similar events that's why I'm asking.

Yes the camera is great, but you're right, it has a hard time maintaining focus when following a fast moving object against a low-contrast background. Good luck!

One thing ill never understand is *why* the *f18* tail flaps close *inside* even on runway and on catapult ready to take off.. I see it and i can't get it ..

With the gear and flaps down, the rudders will toe inboard to help with stability. The amount of toe in varies with AOA, as AOA increases the rudders will move towards streamline.

Hoaxial • Keep in mind the Gladiators are the East Coast RAG. That could be an NFO student in the back, for them any seat time is important, maybe an instructor who’s got family in the show town. Any number of things. They’re not going to take a F model Rhino on the road with an empty seat.

No real ear protection for ground crew. Ear plugs don’t protect that well. I spent 4 years as a NFO and always wore headgear for protection around the ear as well.

The only thing unauthorized as a rule is breaking the speed of sound as there would almost surely damage to windows around the airfield.

f/a-18 cant go much faster than mach 1, this was a pretty good demo of its capabilities. Min rad turn, bombing run, tail stands, low speed high AOA, carrier break and landing, high speed, inverted flight, what the fuck else you want the guy to do?

The Tomcat was king of the hill during my time. 1994-99. But man the Super Hornet is pretty bad ass!! I like the 2 man crew it gives the pilot all his attention to driving while the rio or wizo can shoot shit down! But is it a true air superiority platform? The numbers are ok. But the f14 was a sexy bird!

The WSO does not fire any of the weapons, all that is done by the pilot in the front seat
